3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
O’Hara’s Irish Red has a very thin, off-white head, a brilliant brick-red appearance, lots of bubble streams, and a little bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of medium-roasted barley malt, molasses, brown bread crust, and candied fruit. Taste is of tannin, bread crust, and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and O’Hara’s Irish Red finishes crisp, dry, refreshing, and easy drinking. Overall, this is a simple, yet good beer. RJT

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at John Hewitt, pours a hazy amber with a medium beige head. Nose brings out bready malts above anything. Flavour is quite dry, with bready malt, a little toffee and a dry bitter finish. Balanced and drinkable, but not terribly exciting.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark red color. It looks really nice. The smell is nice. Malty and slightly bitter. The taste is also very malty and has a bread aroma. It has a high ’stout’ appearance. In the finish there is a little citrusy aroma. Overall, a nice beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
0,5 l bottle from Rudat, best before 28/11/2015. Clear, dark red with a small, fluffy, slowly diminishing, tan with a reddish touch head. Pleasant, malty aroma of redcurrant, raspberry, caramel and gentle hints of chocolate. Sweetish taste of redcurrant, raspberry and caramel, followed by a weird, light bitter and slightly metallic finish. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Pleasant, but not fantastic. Easily drinkable despite the empty, metallic finish.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours light chestnut with medium off-white head. Very dirty aroma with soil, compost and some sweetish, lightly roasted malts. Light bodied palate, slightly spicy and herbal. Short finish with low bitterness. Does not hit the mark for me, way below average.
