COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional light hop flavour balances the sweet malty caramel taste. The addition of a pinch of roast barley during the brewing process lends a distinctive roast bite which is balanced by a crisp dry medium bitterness.

O’Hara’s Irish Red has a very thin, off-white head, a brilliant brick-red appearance, lots of bubble streams, and a little bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of medium-roasted barley malt, molasses, brown bread crust, and candied fruit. Taste is of tannin, bread crust, and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and O’Hara’s Irish Red finishes crisp, dry, refreshing, and easy drinking. Overall, this is a simple, yet good beer. RJT

Draught, served as Dooliner. Red colour, white head with very good lacing. Aroma is pleasant, malty, with some hops. Easy to drink, seems to represent the style well.

Bue en bouteille. Couleur rouge profond. Houblon au nez, note caramélisées en finale. Assez déséquilibrée à mon avis.

bottle. amber red with one finger head. if you took a mediocre red ale and added some rotting vegetable flavors, you’d pretty much have this one nailed. i couldn’t drink much of it before i dumped it down the drain.

Deliciosa y saciante. 330ml bottle. Wine glass. Dark reddish amber & ruby tints to the light. Light tan froth, slowly diminished crown. Prune, dat & caramel aromas. Dried upfront light caramel flavors & slight herbal bitterness. Medium-light body. Moderate carbonation. Slight acidic & woody notes into a dry finish & refreshing aftertaste. Delicious & thirst quench.

0.5 bottle. Clear, dark carmine color and a small, off-white head. Malty aroma of caramel and some nuts - it’s very soft and other than that there’s nothing more in it. Taste is sweet wit loads of caramel, some nuts, earth, and a noticeable hop bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, and average carbonation. Finish is still sweet although a tad dry which could have been expected due to the notable hop presence. Overall a nice beer but does not impress.

The aroma is a little faint, grainy, kvass-like, and definitely sour. Pours an exceptionally pleasant, soothing, slightly hazy deep brown with a large, crazy stable head. Very sour; the bitterness approaching medium but overshadowed by the sourness. Body below medium, carbonation low, finish weak, sour and bitter. Not too bad, certainly not spectacular, much too sour for my liking.

O’haras irish red from bar in Rome. Clear red ale with good off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma. Same taste, but slightly metallic. Prickly, and quite thin. Average.

33cl Bottle from a bottle shop on Syros. Clear deep reddish amber-brown colour, light-beige head. Aroma of caramel, burnt sugar, molasses, roast, toast, some green hops. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, caramel, roast, molasses, decent hoppy bitter finish. Light-bodied. Tasty.

Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Dark copper, clear body, with a big, rocky, beige, really stable head, that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma of nuts, chocolate, roast, hay, dark berries. Taste is a bit watery, with about the same aromas. Mouthfeel is light, with almost no carbonation and it finishes light, roasty and bitter. It starts very promising, but unfortunately it gets worse with every step: beautiful appearance, decent aroma, watery taste and finally a really light mouthfeel. Much too thin for my liking, even when considering the low ABV.

0.5l. Pours nice head and nice smell, really promising. Now comes the problem. It tastes like... well, when you drink it you feel no taste, and aftertaste is not really good, just a little smoke and caramel. I am slightly dissapointed.
