COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional light hop flavour balances the sweet malty caramel taste. The addition of a pinch of roast barley during the brewing process lends a distinctive roast bite which is balanced by a crisp dry medium bitterness.

O’Hara’s Irish Red has a very thin, off-white head, a brilliant brick-red appearance, lots of bubble streams, and a little bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of medium-roasted barley malt, molasses, brown bread crust, and candied fruit. Taste is of tannin, bread crust, and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and O’Hara’s Irish Red finishes crisp, dry, refreshing, and easy drinking. Overall, this is a simple, yet good beer. RJT

Colour is deep dark copper. Aroma is caramel and toast. Flavour is roast malt, toast, earth, caramel and hops. Palate is thin. Overall the aroma is nicer than the taste.

medium and sweet aroma - well caramelized malt, oak barrel, fruit tree wood a bit burned, sweet berries in alcohol. moderate dry taste - a lot of caramelized malt/sugar, flowers, honey, black bread crust, some yeast. very good and balanced!

Appearance is nice and aroma is good. The taste is not my cup of tea - it was just too bitter.

On-tap in Copenhagen. A very enjoyable mellow red ale, and is perfectly suited to drink throughout the night.

My Bottom Line:
Caramelized cereals and earthy hops lead to herbal tips and their gentle bitterness in this healthy Irish Red Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy dark red.
-Both malt and hops are well defined.
-Flavor profile is well balanced.
-Mouthfeel is creamy despite their being no nitrogen in this one.

On tap at The Bull & Castle, Dublin.

Aroma: dark bread, caramel, toasty. Appearance: amber, orange, clear, tan foam, rocky head, quite mall quantity but lasts. Taste: medium bitterness, lightly sour. Palate: medium body, thin feel, soft carbonation, astringent, bitter, long finish.

Gehbe (223) - Vilnius, LITHUANIA - JUL 9, 2016
Pours deep ruby and clear, big persistent tan head, decent lacing. Fairly dry aroma of toast, bread crust, toffee, coffee, herbs, spice, resin. Tastes fairly dry, light bitterness on top with a little bit of roasty acidity. Light body, medium carbonation, somewhat sticky aftertaste. Not bad, but the herbal/resiny flavor doesn’t go well with the dark malts.

Amber with off white head - Caramel malt aroma with hints of hops - Good malt body with caramel flavour and some hints of fruity hops - The caramel malt and hints of hops in the finish - This was nice
