750mL bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out dry oats, some wood and a touch of whiskey. Flavour is like a big dry stout, with very light whiskey notes, oats and wood. Not complex at all. There is even a slight tartness to this on the finish. Decent, but not the most refined beer by any means.

Pours pitch black. Small head. Coffee, chocolate, wood and bitterness flavours are well balanced. Full-bodied. Stands out miles from the O’Hara’s Celtic Stout.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2012 Cask @ Farringtons. Dark ebony pour, medium beige head. Aroma: malt, tar, vanilla, whisky, peat. Initially bitter and slightly dry. Very faint hint of aniseed. Malty, nutty/vanilla sweetness precedes a slight bitterness. Whisky warmth comes through at the very end. Delighted to have rated it, not sure when i will see it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
