Laden with complex chocolate and coffee flavours, balnced by a robust bitterness and delicate spicy aroma, O’haras Leann Follain is a full bodied extra Irish stout.

Bottled@Cosmic Comic Cafe, Turku. Black colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, nice coffee as well as some caramelly and toffeeish noetes. Flavour is roasted malts, some caramel, mild smoked and ashy notes. Sadly the flavour didn’t live up to the promise the aroma gave.

Opaque dark brown color, thick brown head. Coffeish, a bit milky aroma, slightly acidic too. Medium-bodied. Coffee, milky notes, ashy toasted malts and kind of acidic notes. Not very balanced, coffee brings too much acidity this otherwise toasted malty stout.

50cl bottle @ Bull and Castle, Dublin. Thanks Dave.

Very dark brown. Big puffy head. Richly roasty. Light chocolate. Full, rich, but with buttery notes. Too much diacetyl really messes this one up - not what I want in a stout.

black extra stout, coffee, some chocolate, hints of vanilla, hop bitterness in the finish. absolutely delicious complex flavors, some american brewers can take a lesson from this one due to the complex flavors that dont require a double digit abv. extremely enjoyable, what a great unexpected find.

Bottle [500ml] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o garthicus. Pours black with ruby highlights and an average size diminishing creamy tan head. Aroma of coffee along with some chocolate, herbs, molasses and oddly, a hint of jalapeno. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Average bodied. Pretty good.

Bottle @ Bull & Castle. Black and beautiful with yummy head. Dark malt dough and dark sugar, raisin and caramel. Soft and easy mouthfeel. Dry and smoky. Not roasty, not sweet. Banana-coffee nuances and a pleasant touch of acidity in the dry finish.

Bottled at L. Mulligan Grocer, Dublin. Ver yblack, rich head. Chocolate mud cake from nose to finish. Mid sweet with dense well rounded and well sized body. Plenty of licorice, notes of coffee and leather couch. Mildly warming finish with salty bitterness. A top stout with soft edges.

Bottle @ The Bull & Castle. Appearance: Pitch black, oily, small brown/yellow head. Aroma: lots of iron & rust up front, tons of dark fruit, raisins, plums, blueberries, quite a tart aroma with a dash of smoke in there too. Lovely. Flavour: Super bitter, lots of raisins, tangy copper, very decent alcoholic bite with a great smoke finish. Delicious. A real shining star amongst the Irish craft brew scene

What’s the matter, Craig?

What does it say on this jar?

"Craig."

Well I’m glad someone around here can read. The jar holds fourteen pickles. I had three yesterday, two for lunch today, and one and a half for snack. And now there are six and a half pickles in this jar. Simple math indicates...

Are you counting the one in your hand?

Ok, false alarm.
