3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2015 Pours deep dark with a nice and long lasting head. Not too intense aroma of coffee with milk (the only way a man who doesn’t drink coffee at all can describe it) with some roasted notes and chocolate. The taste follows the aroma, though the body is rather thin. Sweet at first the beer turns slighty sour and the finish is coffee bitter. Overally, quite good stout beer but nothing extraordinary.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pitch black with tan head of foam.
I smell roasted malt that comes across as very dry and somewhat bitter. There is chocolate too and that adds sweet notes.
Tastes like it smells. Roasty, sweet chocolate, dry bitterness from coffee. Very tasty.
I had not even heard of this brew. What a pleasant surprise!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle as Christmas Velvet from Systembolaget Kiruna kindly brought to Tromsø by djoeye. Oily pour creating a coal black coloured body under a solid light brow head leaving rings of lace down the glassware. Roasted chocolate malty nose. Plain roasted malty taste, notes of grainy chocolate and liquorice that linger throughout. Smooth. A rather vivid stout, may a bit unvaried (Tromsø 09.01.2015).
