3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bra djup i smakerna, lätt beska. Trevlig.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Tallinna Kaubamaja food department (€ 2,15) in May 2014. Black with a hint of chestnut brown; consistent darkish beige head. The distinctly vinuous aroma is bursting with strong coffee and sweetness, kind of like a vanilla and chocolate ice cream cocktail mixed with 2 shots of espresso, a handful of dark smoked fruits and some plum liqueur. It’s also a bit earthy, dirty, smoky, more as it warms. Tase is sweet chocolate, well roasted coffee and bitter hops; finish is on the bitter side, dry and ’grainy’. Body’s surprisingly timid, goes well with the rather sharp and sparkly carbonation. Mouthfeel is soft and a bit oily. Overall it’s somewhat more exciting (and way more sweeter) than Celtic but they’re both good after a hard day’s work or dinner. Celtic maybe with dessert, this here instead of one.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good sized frothy and bubblly light brown head of mixed size bubbles. Light roasty aroma with some milk chocolate and fresh air. Or maybe it is just the Ireland air that I am drinking it in!! Basic roasted irish stout. Toasted grains, a hint of licorice and some molasses. Moderate bitterness at the finish. A decent dry stout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Flight done at Brewers Corner in Kilkenny. Samples healthy portion, 8 oz. Tasty notes as follows:
Irish Stout: coffee, dry, tasty
Irish Pale Ale: good pun on name, good flavor, nice hop balance
Irish Red: strong alcohol flavor, finish is taste of pool water, hard to finish, biased against style in general, had in nitro as well which was more enjoyable
Helles Lager: crisp, mild hop finish
Natural Blonde: drinkable, koslh-esque?
Leann Follain: Barrel aged flavor, enjoyable like most irish dry stouts
Double IPA: Boozy, strong hop flavor, not up there with the good ones
Widow Retro Pale Ale: conservative, middle of the road, not offensive but not great
Amber Adventure: tastes similar to pale ale, hops present and noticeable, bitter, caramel malt
Winter Star: spicy, winer holiday flavor
