4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pour is black with a frothy, dissipating tan head. Nose is dry roasted malt, dust, molasses, liquorice and hints of coffee. Flavour follows the nose, roast malt, not overly done, with some dark fruit sweetness and more liquorice. A little bit of bitterness in the finish. Really nicely balanced this. Palate is medium to full bodied, a little creamy, flat carbonation. Extremely drinkable. Excellent.

Really liking this one! The aroma is wham in your face; lots of toasted malt character with a coffee element as well. Pours a dark black with a tan pillowy head that fades to lacing that loves clinging to the pint glass. Taste is somewhat sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee, and especially toasted malt. Finishes exceptionally smooth and flavorful but with enough bitter dryness to prepare you for the next sip.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle 0,33. Completely black body, but there are copper-red glimpses when looking towards the light. Lovely brown foamy head looks very yummy.
Speaking about nose and taste: i was suprised how uber-STRICT is it.. Just like Will Smith in suite starring in MIB)) Nothing superfluous, but tons of roasted malts and burnt coffee beans. Maybe 8-9 C was too cold..
A posh body and creamy texture, pretty drinkable. Continuous semi-dry finish, very balanced. Fits well with chocolate cakes and sweeties)

Piękna drobnopęcherzykowa piana koloru beżowego. Aromaty gorzkiej czekolady i espresso, chwilami alkoholowego likieru czekoladowego. Aksamitne w smaku, goryczka na odpowiednim poziomie. Świetny stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The most beautiful woman in the world is my future mother in law who in spite of her prejudice against my predilection for exotic beer, brought this back to New Zealand from Ireland in the face of her own misgivings about its ability to survive the journey. Surely she is worth a million in prizes.
This beer was as dark as it could get and displayed only a smattering of russet in the dimple of the glass. The aroma was of chocolate, caramel and burned charriness along with shoe polish and freshness. Flavors of burnt toffee, dark chocolate and rum cake. Just more-ish and sippable. A trace of spiciness is there along with a big helping of licorice, but the palate is taking in the classic Irish stout flavours and aromas. What a treat. What a wonderful treat.
