Laden with complex chocolate and coffee flavours, balnced by a robust bitterness and delicate spicy aroma, O’Hara’s Leann Follain is a full bodied extra Irish stout. 14.5°

Bottle at Reuben’s, thanks! Pours dark ruby tinged brown with foamy tan head. Aromatic pipe tobacco, chocolate and a touch of lactose on the nose. Full bodied with fairly vigorous carbonaton, dry roast barley up front with a touch of malt astringency finishing with malt chocolate and caramel.

Bottle. Black color, medium creamy head. Aroma was little bit spicy, but more like coffee aroma. Dark coffee without sugar in taste, chocolate tones, little bit smoky notes. Bitter finish. Good.

O’haras christmas velvet. Sort med hřyt lys brunt skum, legger seg fort men blir der. Karamell og brent kaffelukt. Medium bitter. Noe merkelig blomsteraktig smak, jord morsomt! Medium- kullsyre.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 Small bottle. Very dark body, tall tan head. Aroma has rich coffee, roasted nuts, chocolate cake, smoked almonds, dark toffee. Taste has the same and then even more sweet roast and burnt sugar in the finish. So tasty and well balanced - this is a tremendous stout!

Pours dark brown almost black with a foamy dark tan head. Smells of malts and caramel. Tastes of roasted malts, coffee, and light bitter. Very similar Guinness. Has a thick mouth feel.

Bottle from Tallinna Kaubamaja food department (€ 2,15) in May 2014. Black with a hint of chestnut brown; consistent darkish beige head. The distinctly vinuous aroma is bursting with strong coffee and sweetness, kind of like a vanilla and chocolate ice cream cocktail mixed with 2 shots of espresso, a handful of dark smoked fruits and some plum liqueur. It’s also a bit earthy, dirty, smoky, more as it warms. Tase is sweet chocolate, well roasted coffee and bitter hops; finish is on the bitter side, dry and ’grainy’. Body’s surprisingly timid, goes well with the rather sharp and sparkly carbonation. Mouthfeel is soft and a bit oily. Overall it’s somewhat more exciting (and way more sweeter) than Celtic but they’re both good after a hard day’s work or dinner. Celtic maybe with dessert, this here instead of one.

Warning!. incredibly inconsistent beer. A good bottle - great chocolate/vanilla aroma with a full bodied Irish stout flavour with again a slight hint of chocolate , with lovely smooth palate and dry coffee finish.... A bad bottle - don’t even feckin talk to me. This rating is judged on a good batch.
