Bien noire avec un collet de grosse bulles qui se dissipe pour laisser place a un fin liseret de fines bulles. Aromes bien marqué de café, cacao, malt grillé. Assez ronde, attaque sur les notes grillées. Final legerement sec et amere, bien long.

Bottle found at Auchan St patricks day special. Typical stout colour, nose roasted malt, taste coffee, chocolate malts, a bit watery finish. One of the best stouts I ever tasted.

Rich, complex stout--a tad too much bitterness for perfect enjoyment, but this one has many many layers, it’s got caramel, it’s got a good thick head, it’s got toasted nuts, a bit of ale hops...not as creamy as the standard IRL stout style, but darn appreciable

Very dark brown color, average sized brownish head. Medium body, soft carbonation. Strong coffee aroma, chocolate, roasted malt. Medium sweet taste. Very tasty, although not as much as Celtic Stout. Still, it has stronger body so it depends on the occasion. I like both of them equally.

Bottle, 355 ml. Pours very dark bodied, with none to little head. Very rich aroma of bitter chocolate and treacle. Much the same on the palate, wtih pleasant blend and balance of sweet and sour. A decent ale overall.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a smooth chocolate with smooth vinous notes, molasses, dark fruits, almost veering on imperial stout territory. In mouth, a earthy and woody chocolate malt with some nice vinous and woody notes, delicate, peaty and very nice. Bottle from MLCB, via trade with Piscator, about 1.5 years ago. And it is still delish! Thanks Kris.

February 15, 2011. Shared by garthicus with blankboy and me. 500ml bottle. Opaque ruby-black with a nice lasting creamy light brown head. Smells of mocha with light lactic sourness and a whisper of background peat. Taste is similar, add in some chocolate and burnt hardwood - not as sweet as the aroma - background creaminess, light alcohol. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, mild carbonation (appropriate) - a nice frothy hot chocolate character up front with some sharp dry herbal bitterness in the tail. Very nice. Rich.
