COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Amber colored beer with a thin white head. Malty aroma with a little skunkiness apparrent. Malty sweet up front finishes bitter but skunky. Dump the green bottle.

Re-discovered this very tasty Carlsberg product some years ago, just as the brewery was about to drop it from its Christmas special portfolio. Thankfully they didn’t and now it is available all year in Denmark so I don’t have to stock up around Christmas. Nice caramel color and aroma and a pleasant sweetness before the medium bitterness hops kicks in at the end of the Vieneese style brew. Good head and just the right fizziness as expected of the professionals at Carlsberg adds to the overall favourable impression of a stock beer that beats most of the micro-breweries in Denmark for sheer good taste and a hard act to follow if you care for another beer after the 47.

thanks to duff for cracking open this can. rich hue of amber, minimal head; very boozy aroma; loads of grape sugar sweetness, industrial and not great

"sweetish nose, with a slightly bitter mouthfeel and taste, with some tight carbonation. not a great beer, but not horrible either. overall, not something i’d search out again."

02.08.2014. 0,5l Can. At Cabinn Aalborg, Denmark. Dark amber brown colour with white to off-white head. Aroma is dominated by malt. Strong with good alcohol strength. Good flavours of malt. Very little bitterness gives a beer that is a little heavy but its also nice to get the malt flavours abd bot only hops. I think this is s pretty good beer.

djoeye (1975) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUL 6, 2014
Yellowish head, some lacings, clear warm-amber body. Weak aroma. Pale alcoholic malts, maybe a tiny yellow apple. Taste; malts, grainy wort, some hops. Slicky oily stuff, but it has at least a finish with bitter, bread, rubber and bitter-alco. Alright sipper, not a quencher. [50cl can, abv7%, B@Rema1000 Middelfart, T@Fjelsted Skov Fyn DK]

Hay, roasty, floral, citrus, cough drop. Another beer that would have been better with a lower alcohol level.

Can. Pours a clear light bronze body with a small white head. Aroma is mild grainy tones, rye-ish sourness, straw and hints of caramel and faint wet paper. Taste is mild caramel, grains, burnt sugar and hints of sour-ish yeasty tones. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Not a very successful bock, even by industrial standards.

My favorite lager style beer. It has a good bitternes and long aftertaste. Comes in glass bottles around Christmas every year otherwise in half liter cans.

Can, 50cl. Pours amber with moderate off-white head. Caramel, roasted malt and grassy notes. Fruity sweet, malt, caramel and alcoholic. Thick and chewy. Lacks hobs and balance. Light-bodied. I missed some crisp refinement.
