2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2008 Can. Pours a nice amber body with a small, dense off-white head. Caramel and fruityness in the aroma, with some cooked vegetables and piney hints. Effervescent, medium full body with caramel and fruityness and a piney bitterness towards the finish. Medium length finish. My impression from the last time I rated it is confirmed. It’s a straight forward simple amber ale with little off-flavors.Rating: 4-4-4-3-9-2.4. (080828)
Bottled. Clear, reddish brown, with a nice beige head. Malt, grain, brown bread and some hops in the aroma. Quite weak. The flavor is weak too, with a little more bitterness in the aroma, else it is the same. Medium body. Pleasant hop-level in the finish. Carlsberg states that they have added co2, which I don’t consider wrong to do, but maybe they shouldn’t have added this much. (061007)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Dark amber with slight haze. Aroma of cranberries and coriander. Dry mouthfeel with initial high carbonation. Taste begins sweet then gains caramel flavour as well as the cranberries and slight bitterness.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Amber beer with a medium head. Malt and caramel aroma. Relatively sweet caramel flavour, too one-dimensional to compete with a british or a micro-brewed ale. Two thumbs down for Carlsberg’s attempt to catch up with trends.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2009 (6,4,7,3,13)
can 33cl. bbf 03.01.09. red/brown with nice offwhite large head. sweet dusty/grainy aroma, resembles belgian a little bit.
nice flavor, very nice for a macro. grainy/dusty, hops, honey, watermelon, slight dark fruits if you let it warm up. very well composed. much better than most macros at this ABV.
(aroma a little metallic, but we’re close to best before date. flavor is metallic and bitter. taste of old beer
conclusion must be that this beer can’t stay fresh till BBF date)
re-rate another can bf 3.1.09 bought just a few days ago.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reddish brown and a nice head. The aroma is malty with slightly spicy notes. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky, and the flavour is sweetly malted, light nots of spice and I find it out of balance, IMO the hops and malt doesn’t mingle well in this one.
