COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Gamle Carlsberg has a clear red-golden colour, and is brewed with münchenermalt by bayerish tradition since 1847. Münchenermalt is roasted by higher temperature, which gives it a darker colour than regular malt. Gamle Carlsberg’s aroma indicates fine fruity and caramellish notes. In the mouth it is characterized by having a good body and low carbonation, which underlines the soft impression of the taste.

A very extraordinary brew with a chustnut-coloured body. Very balanced with remindings of malt and sweet caramel in the aroma and taste and a bitter malty aftertaste. A splended beer!

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2004 Nice color, very good taste. Pretty bitter, but in a very gently and 'withdrawing' way, that makes this beer one of my favourites from the danish standard selection. Has an interesting history too. Easy to drink, but is not boring.

Pleasant toasted malt nose, slightly citrusy. Ruddy amber color and spongy head. Subdued malt body, grainy. Quick profile and medium body. A respectable beer by all means.

Wonderful reddish/brown colour. Nice aroma with plenty of malts and a hint of toffee. The flavour is lightly sweet and clearly dominated by the toasted malt. A very pleasant (Munich) dunkel with a smooth, lightly bitter finish.

A beutiful amber beer with a very nice aroma of sweet caramel. It has a very good balance between the sweetness of the malt and the bitternes of the hops. A very nice beer.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2005 Nice dark amber beer with small head. As most Carlsberg beers, it is very well balanced. A little thin on the palate, but very drinkable. Good in food. One of my favorite "daily beers"
