4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 lytzenhoff (27) - Fuen, - JAN 21, 2005
A massive dark colour, almost black. The taste is characterized by bitterness and malt, that later on, gives room for more coffee- and chocolate-like flavors. Uhm.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 suprchunk (1059) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - MAY 18, 2012
Black pour. Sizable tan head that leaves a bit of lacing behind as it quickly recedes. Roasty malt aroma with hints of vanilla and chocolate. Taste is big malt with a tinge of roast. Milk chocolate and vanilla. Smooth mouth. Sweet with just a hint of coffee bitterness. Nice beer.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2012
Green 33cl bottle brought back from Denmark while visiting the 1st European beer fest, in Copenhagen. Best before 17 Apr 09, drank 23 Jan 09.
Poured into a Gordons Thistle shapped glass.
Lovely deep ruby red when held up to the light, otherwise it looks jet black, on top sat a deep foaming tan coloured head.
Burnt malts dominate the aroma, mushrooms maybe?
The burnt malts take over the taste too, rich and fairly creamy but with an overpowering dryness that masks any sweetness that I feel should be there.
Not the greatest Porter in the world, but not the worst.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Camons (2167) - Hasselager, DENMARK - MAY 15, 2012
Bottle @ Gyngen, Århus. Pours black with a creamy brown head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, coffee, milk chocolate. Taste is rather bitter with roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate notes. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not bad. 150512
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mile (1449) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 12, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown, small and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate to full, malty - some oat and sweetish aroma, some caramel with light roasted malt, light sourness, faint licorice. Body is medium, malty - light oat and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light roasted malt, light coffee. Finish is average, malty - light oat and sweetish, light caramel some coffee and light roasted malt, faint chocolate and hoppyness. Lightly roasted caramel sweetish porter - could use more hoppyness. Too sweet for me.

12/12/10/11/11/12

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Palme (1437) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 13, 2012
0.33l bottle @ a random local Irish-like pub in Copenhagen - I can’t quite remember the name of. The first thing I smell is black oysters, coffee, mild sweet and light roasted. The carbonation is average feels medium-bodied and it has a light oily mouthfeel. Tastes lots of chocolate, roasted cold coffee and some tobacco. The last one there could be because we are sitting in a pub where it’s allowed to smoke inside. Can’t remember doing that in many many years. Anyhow, this was nice enough. Definitely my "last for the day". Thank you and good night. 08.01.2012
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ClubGonzo (1978) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 9, 2012
Bottle @ City Pub in Vesterbrogade, Copenhagen (late at night, hijacked by friends). Pours a dark, near black body with a small white head. Aroma is soft tones of licorice and roasted malts with hints of dark chocolate. Taste is licorice, roasty malt tones and hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Smooth mouthfeel, light body. Not bad from Carlsberg, I must say.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JanLaursen (1118) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 15, 2011
Bottled: Clear black colored beer with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, cafe au lait-colored head. Aroma is heavy malty, dark roasted, roasted, plummy, light cofee, dusty. Flavor is sweet and light bitter, rather thin in the mouth, carbonation is soft. Seven years ago this was a rather good beer, today it’s just average and industrialized.
