COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

50 cl. can @ home, bought somewhere in Belgium. This version has 7,5% ABV. Pours old yellow with a white head. Sweet grainy aroma and taste. Your typical strong lager but I had worse.

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear, rather pale golden with white head. Sweet, blatantly corny and slightly malty. Bitter, slightly alcoholic, then sweet. Sticky, light body, long, sweet finish.

Poured almost a finger of head on a clear, dark golden colored body. The aroma is borderline. It has some nice grain notes but has a damp room smell in the background. The taste is sweet and moves to sweeter. There’s the mildest bitter note at the very beginning. It lacks a real profile. The texture is sticky with moderate carbonation... not appealing. The sweetness and sticky texture make this a "no-go".

Average color. Almost no head. Nose of grains and skunk. Typical euro hallerteau hops. Skunk, mild alcohol. Did I just really just pay $10 for this 6 pack?? :(

33cl Can at Kinepolis, Gent. Straight from the can. Aroma of caramel, quinine, tonic, lime, very artificial. Flavour is bitter, grapefruit/orange peel, sweet lime, tonic, quinine bitterness. Very artificial, but still they state only water, barley and hops on the label. Yeah right.. Crap.

Bottle @ supermarket (auchan).
