COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Clear golden yellow with a very thin head. This had a grassy aroma with some skunkiness. The taste was mildly sweet with a slight bitter finish. I could drink this again.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2010 Not much I can complain about with this one. I love the taste, I love the bottle. European lager is always a personal favorite. It must be leftover genes from my European ancestors still lingering inside.

I always referred to this beer as an ass-kicker. It’s pretty easy to drink, and the high ABV will sneak up on you. Overall, it’s not very exciting. Pretty sweet and smooth with only a slight alcohol warming. One or two at a time and then I have to switch.

330ml bottle. Appearance is clear golden-amber with a large frothy white head. Aroma is standard euro lager honey sweet malts with an alcohol and light citrus hop presence. Taste is medium sweet malts with a balancing dry hop bitterness to the finish. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Not sure about the purpose of this beer - if you want to drink a high ABV beer I would suggest one with a more sophisticated flavour profile.

The aroma has a delicate sweetness and a crisp barley flavor. There is a golden color with a clear orange hue and a medium creamy head. The flavor starts out crisp, goes to a slight note of alcohol, and then sweet notes with a slight lingering of hop bitterness.

Had from bottle from Total Wine & More. Pours golden yellow with a bit of fizz, small head, and adequate lacing. Aroma of malts and a bit of hops - nothing special, nothing good. Pretty tame aroma and taste is the same. Tastes almost like any other fizzy yellow lager. Malt beverage that is just not for me.

From a bottle poured amber with a fair amount of head. Grassy malty flavor with a lingering finish.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Darker yellow pout with a thin but persistent white head. Moderate lacing. Light malt/ethanol aroma. Flavor is quite good and lagerish - medium light lager maltiness at the start with a the finsih punctuated by a bit of simple but well balanced hoppiness. The hops in the finish masks the sweet clingy ethanol flavor, and so this doesn’t come off tasting like just some high class malt liquor. Not a bad brew at all.
