COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Appearance: clear mid gold on bright mid plus white snowy cap. Good lacing is presented. 4-
Nose: simple ,straight sweet malt with forward mineral hops , some alcohol abound
Flavor/Palate : full bodied , slightly oily. Plenty of golden sticky malt shown with slight grassy hop feel. Bitter short metallic ending placed on hop plate of alcohol. Strong lager in its simplicity. Bit rugh but some might like that.Nothing more nor less. Standard Dansk Mocne.

Anna says: Looks like a lager, with a lagery head on a glass full of lager. The head develops that lovely filmy residue after a short while. Is there an aroma? Yes, but it hints slightly of nasty. Leaves a nasty taste in the mouth as swell, the kind I want to scrape off my tongue. Fizzy also. Ew, though we’ve had worse byproducts of the chemical industry. One thing it has going for it is that it doesn’t taste of the alcohol. (3-2-2-1-4=1.2)
Phil says: Gold, skummy head. Soft carbonation. Sweet simple malty aroma. Occasional hint of alcohol. Taste is moslty bready malts. Drinkable ESL. (4-2-4-2-7=1.9)

Pours light amber into a shaker. Fluffy white head meringues as it slowly recedes leaving sheet lacing. Malt and light grain aromas. Soft with sweet caramel upfront and a lasting bitter hop and alcohol finish. Unfortunately, it becomes very cloying half-way through.

Sep 13, 2007 Can from Prague airport, at home. Orange hue. Pretty strong nose. Hoppy, strong alcohol content. Watery and strong sharp aftertaste. Not very good.

33cl bottle. It poured a yellow colour with a meidum big foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma is malty, but there is also notes of grains and a touch of grass. The flavour is bitter and tastes of malts, grass, corn og peppery spices. It has a short aftertaste.

Bottle. Very disappointing. Pours a light golden with lots of carbonation and a small white head. Aroma of alcohol and grassy malt. Taste is unbearable- lots of sweet corn, straw, grass, slight spicy hops, and powerful grain alcohol. Very much a malt liquor rather than a strong lager.

Golden lager with a lacing white head. Aroma of mash tun being cleaned, spent grains and light alcohol. Sharp crisp malt with alcohol warmth. Grainy malt finish. Tasted Spring 2006.

Poured an amber color with little lacing. I enjoyed the hearty flavor, but the alcohol was a little overpowering.
