2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 JohnnyJ (3043) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 12, 2011
Can in Munich. Grainy, sweet, metallic, alcohol, and piss. I don’t like it, the purpose of this is to get buzzed.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 wlajwl (1795) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - MAY 31, 2011
Slightly sweet and grainy/grassy in the aroma, although faint. In appearance it is medium gold. The flavor is grainy and sweet as well and has a slight alcohol presence. Overall this was surprising and relatively decent in flavor.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Kristall-König (1638) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
Alkoholisches Finish.
Irgendwie unbeholfen wirkendes Starkbier. Kein Knüller.Test vom 28.6.2007, Gebinde: Dose
1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 VTHopHead (1387) - Barre, Vermont, USA - MAY 24, 2011
Bottle/11.2oz - Pours a golden yellow in color with a very small white head and almost no carbonation. Aroma is medium skunky... green bottle... and somewhat malty with a small amount of sweetness and grassy hops. Flavor is also fairly sweet and malty. Finish is slightly hoppy and slightly bitter. Some lingering skunk... green bottles SUCK!
1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 dfinney23 (510) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 17, 2011
Smells kinds skunky/stale and doesn’t taste much better. A little grassy aftertaste is probably my favorite part of this one so I’m looking forward to being done with it.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 desertblues (21) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 13, 2011
Pours a pale yellow with a grassy notes a a light malt. Funk is evident in the first taste followed by honey and little else. Pretty average strong lager.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 ClubGonzo (1978) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 25, 2011
Can, courtesy of Palme - thanks man! :-) This is a classic that I remember most Norwegians associated with Danish beer when I was younger, and a brand you "had to" drink if in Denmark. The relatively high ABV was probably the main incentive for the near-mythical status Carlsberg Elephant had in Norway, as no Norwegian beer at the time weighed in at more than 6,5 %. Since this was way before the craft beer revolution, I’m guessing the same pretty much went for Denmark. *cough* Anyway, here’s the rating: Pours a light. honey-hued orange with a medium white head lasting surprisingly long for this kind of beer. Aroma is very thin, with some sweet grains and pale malts, a bit of booze and not much more. Taste is pretty much what I’d expect from a strong macro lager: pale malts, cereal, booze and some more booze in the aftertaste. Damn, this is one unmasked drunken binge beer! It really tastes as if someone took a regular pale lager and poured a shot of vodka in it. Pretty nasty. The promised "sophisticated bitterness" (from the label) in the aftertaste is pretty much undiluted alcohol all the way. Not among the best strong lagers I’ve had.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 rlaw (811) - Alabama, USA - APR 24, 2011
Bottle. Pours a pale yellow with a large white head. Aroma and flavor are generically malty, fairly sweet, with with some grassy hops. Somewhat thick palate.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 gururyan (365) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - APR 19, 2011
One of the first beers I ever had, about 20 years ago. Grabbed a bottle in a pick 6 just to reminisce. Smells like a lager, looks like a lager, and guess what...yep, tastes like a lager. It’s not bad actually, and it’s got a little kick at 7.2%. This explains a lot from incidents as an underaged youth.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Kronebryg (761) - Sorgenfri, DENMARK - APR 19, 2011

light sweetnes in the nose with some light hops - saaz?
