COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Bit of a straw with a dash of skunkiness in the aroma. Golden clear yellow. Has a distinct sweetness in the middle with some bitterness towards the end to balance it off. Surprisingly good and wasn’t what I was expecting. Worth checking out.

To my surprise, I liked it. It’s a bit like a strong export, and that’s not what I like most, but it was well balanced and harmonic. It felt light and fruity too.And the hops was good.

Heavy duty lager with bold hoppiness. Huge depth in the finish. Hard to drink more than a few, not only because it kicks like an elephant, but also can destroy your taste buds for the next week. Enjoy with garlic, a wooden stake, a silver cross and the bible.

I love this stuff its malty with a slight hopp flavor with a clean bitter finish not as strong as i thought it would be very little alcohol flavor well worth the bucks spent on it.

This is much nicer than the straight lager, the extra alcohol content adds some complexity to this one. Kind of grassy with a fresh hoppy flavour.

Yet another beer taken over by the Canucks (Canadians) - I have not had this (until today) since it used to be made in Denmark. Remarkably, it tastes about the same as it used to - this is a good knock-off. Usually there is something lost when the Canadians take over a brew, but this is not the case with EML. The Soviet Union used to have a world domination scheme, and the Canadians seem to have a old high-profile beer domination scheme - lol. Any beer that is 7.2 PA and is not nasty tasting/smelling is good IMHO. Id rather drink a couple of 6 packs instead of a case if its one of those "I wanna get buzzed" nights. Good job Canada on this one..... if only you could tighten up your immigration policy and do a better job on the US border !!

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2005 15 May 2004 witha a rerate 26 July 2004 - Pleasant but simplisitic sweet, very hoppy aroma. Slightly cloudy yellow with an orange tinge, white creamy head, good retention with a soap suds lacing. Good complex spicy hops but not over the top hops, nice light balance, with a slightly nutty taste. Pleasant long lingering hops, nicely sweet and smooth with a reasonable mouthfeel. Good balance of light spirit - hop - sweetness. This is a beer that surprised me, I expected a typical Euro trash beer.

They call it "imported malt liquir" which i find hilarious. Smooth nonalcoholic taste for something as strong as it is. Hoppier than a european pils but otherwise very similar. Deep golden color with a small foamy head.

very skunky smell but this wasn’t bad, a bland kind of beer like I might expect from Bud or Rolling Rock.

Can, pours a hazy lemon-orange juice and gold, there are a bunch of little floaties in this brew, reminds me of some Wits beers I have had, I was not expecting this much color or the floaties in this beer, has a small white foamy head that leaves some lacing, the head thinned out a bit but kept a cap on the beer, this does not look like a lager, this is not a clear brew at all, has some effervescence, there are aromas of faint bread, yeast and sweetness that has some flower nectar like fragrance to it, I was not expecting a ESL to have this type of aroma, flavor is malty and sweet, a hint of alcohol on the tongue, some hops on the palate, hops do balance the sweetness a bit, I got a bit of light fruit flavor along with the sweetness, I did not find the alcohol to become cloying, mouth feel is a little sticky and thick like your typical ESL, am I tasting the same beer listed on RB? This ESL has a decent aroma, I am surprised this beer gets such bad a rating, I am wondering if Carlsberg changed the recipe?
