1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20Yeux : C’est une blondasse qui se laisse mater du coin de l’œil. Constante en effervescence, elle mousse à point. À peine versée, on a des préjugées de bière commerciale, du genre peu goûteuse, pour étancher la soif. Point.
Nez : Des flash-back citronnés hantent notre esprit. Ça sent la bière (vous l’aurez deviné), mais aussi l’orge en subtilité. On a beau chercher d’autres odeurs pour se convaincre, rien d’autre ne se manifeste.
Bouche : Étrangement sèche, on aurait cru cette lager plus désaltérante. L’alcool se perd dans le pétillement intense alors que les autres saveurs ne semblent pas exister.
Gorge : L’alcool disparu en bouche revient en arrière-goût, comme un rappel d’ivresse à venir. Les odeurs céréalières se manifestent désormais sous une espèce d’amertume semi-discrète, semi-imaginaire. Ouais!
Verdict : Tant qu’à se fendre en quatre pour difficilement trouver cette bière plutôt rare au Québec, aussi bien acheter une caisse de Carlsberg régulière. Généralement, elle est plus fraîche puisqu’elle est plus vendue. Et le fait d’être entreposé en caisses permet à la bière d’absorber moins de lumière, ce qui évite souvent l’odeur de moufette.

Pours clear amber without much head.
Clean, grain, bread and some vegitables. Drinkable.

Pours a pale yellow with a white head leaving scant lacing. Nose is faint cereal. Palate is a thin body with very slight sweetness and a hop bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste but does not overwhelm.

Keg. Pale yellow ale with lots of bubbles. White bubbles on top. Nose is syrupy corn. Taste is incredibly syrupy, very sweet and corny. A lager, I guess... But not a great one.

I’m a ticker, what choice did I have, was a punt as I didn’t know if I’d already rated or not. Score! Really wanted to like this so I wouldn’t have to be a snob. But I didn’t, so I am. Chemicals and piss. With a little lemon. Really not good.

The best mainstream Euro-lager I’ve had so far. Don’t let the dank, generic grain aroma put you off, the admittedly slightly metallic taste isn’t bad and it doesn’t hang around long enough to offend anyway: you put it in your mouth, swallow, and the flavour makes a clean, crisp getaway. Drinkable and probably fairly good value for money.

25cl bottle from gift package. Light yellow coloured, white head. Nose is grassy, light bready. Taste is bready, light hopped. Crisp and dry finish.
