COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlsberg Export has been 4.8% abv in the UK since January 2012

Bunch of 650ml bottles in Kathmandu. Pours a clear gold with some fading, white head. Nose has some stale grass, stale malt, a little honey, some lemon. Flavor follows, mild corn, mild malt, a little briny actually, some grass. Watery finish.

Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget, February 2013. Clear golden with a white head. Weak aroma and taste of malt, some grain and with notes of soap. Drinkable but very boring.

Bottle at the Servisair Lounge, Birmingham Airport! Poured a clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is stale malt and yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a malt hop palate and a short bitter finish. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation. A fizzy lager indeed!

A better brew than regular Carslberg, it is still a ’cheap’ tasting lager overall.

German export in 0,5 l bottle. My husband likes to refer to beer in green bottles that they smell like a mens toilet. And this is what comes to my mind when drinking Carlsberg. Citrus flavors, medium bitterness.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2014 0,5 l bottle. Unbelievable citrus smell. You have to be a fan but when it hits you, you are done. Maybe industrial made beer but it still has something special. Yeast and citrus all over. Great one. Still.

Cunningham (5441) - Halden, NORWAY - JUL 1, 2014
Appearance: Clear golden color with a white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Mild malty, moderate hoppy and mild corn.
Palate: Medium body. Slight sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Mild sweet malty, mild hoppy, corn and some fruity notes.
Overall impression: Plain lager. The sweet corn stuff makes it just bad.
Personal stats: Bottle from Brugsen in Kolding, Denmark

275ml green bottle, filtered. 4.8% UK version. Neutral to sweet pale beer with moderate noble hops. Drinkable and unremarkable.

Countbeer (5242) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 1, 2012
Can/Bottle: A modified rating from the old days: Clear golden (yellow) colored beer with a small to medium and quick disappearing white head on top of it. The smell is typical grainy, some malts, light sweets, old grassy hops and herbs. Taste is light/medium bitter with grainy herbs, grassy hops and some sweet bitter herbs. Aftertaste seems to be more bitter than it’s in the taste. Decent for the style but bad for beer in general…

568ml can. Straw with a loose white head; cereal grain aroma; fresh gainy flavour with a medium body and light carbonation; and a very lightly bitter finish, just avoiding the damp cardboard found in so many cheap macro lagers. Probably the best lager in the world ... I beg to differ.
