COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
G.L Carlsberg Imperial Stout Porter was introduced in 1930, won the silver medal in 1996 World Championships, and is still remembered as the world’s best Porter. Sold in bottles and cans.

Aromas and flavours are dominated by caramel, liquorice, Munich malt and roasted chocolate malt, providing a deep dark brown colour with light brown foam.

Serving suggestions: Should be served at 7-10 C. Its strong character makes it suitable for the cold winter months. Its caramelized malt flavor pair well with game, roast pork, sausage, potatoes, ham or desserts with chocolate. It could also be enjoyed by itself or mixed with lemon water.

Can bought at gas station near Odense. Pours almost black with brown lasting head, good lacing. Aroma and taste classic for the style. Roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, but there is an unpleasant chemical nite in the background. Full bodied, oily, nice roasty bitter finish. Not bad, but very polite beer.

50 cl can @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and a little smoke - with a bitter and roasted finish.

Copenhagen 22/1 2015. 50 cl can from Netto. Pours dark brown - almost black - with big beige head. Slowly subsiding. Leaving lacing. Very distinct aroma. Coffee, a little sweetness - chocolate and hints of alcohol. Medium to low carbonation. Taste has strong notes of coffee and a distinct bitterness. Long lingering aftertaste. A true Classic.

500 ml can. Black body with a relatively small, lacing beige head. Aroma has dark, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is sweet, roasted dark malt, coffee, chokolate, a hint of liquorice, moderate bitterness and faint alcohol. Nice body and a good, sweet and roasted aftertaste. A nice and quiet robust porter that manage to be smooth at the same time

Canned. Pours a jet black beer with a big brown head on top. Aroma has massive amounts of coffee, caramel malts, dark chocolate, slight booze and dark fruits in the back. Flavor is fairly bitter, loads of coffee again paired with the dark chocolate. Slight sweetness in the aftertaste, loads of bittersweet licorice everywhere. Very well balanced, poweful taste and full bodied. Certainly good stuff!

Much flavor and aroma of black malt. Maybe even a little soy in the scent, too. Heavy bitterness in the aftertaste that fills the mouth for a long while. The best Carlsberg I ever tried and a really good beer to drink. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle from random kiosk on Christianshavn - black pour with brown head. Roasted malty aroma and taste, with some milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, some burnt notes, allot better than was expecting. Very nice.

Can. Black as night. Medium-big brownish head. In nose notes of chocolate, nuts and coffe. Flavor of chocolate, bread, nuts, plums and some roast. Full body. Creamy texture. Some bitterness in finish. Hard beer for quantity drinking. But actual really good and a positive suprise from Carlsberg.
