G.L Carlsberg Imperial Stout Porter was introduced in 1930, won the silver medal in 1996 World Championships, and is still remembered as the world’s best Porter. Sold in bottles and cans.

Aromas and flavours are dominated by caramel, liquorice, Munich malt and roasted chocolate malt, providing a deep dark brown colour with light brown foam.

Serving suggestions: Should be served at 7-10 C. Its strong character makes it suitable for the cold winter months. Its caramelized malt flavor pair well with game, roast pork, sausage, potatoes, ham or desserts with chocolate. It could also be enjoyed by itself or mixed with lemon water.

Bottle from random kiosk on Christianshavn - black pour with brown head. Roasted malty aroma and taste, with some milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, some burnt notes, allot better than was expecting. Very nice.

Medium dark brown head. Roasty chocolatey aroma with earthy notes. Very delicate and harmonic aroma. Dry-sweet roasty chocolatey taste with burnt caramelly notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry roasty resiny chocolate aftertaste with dusty burnt caramelly notes. Lingering delicate sweetness and bitterness in perfect balance, with dark chocolate, toffee, and vanilla fudge notes with background minerals. Alcohol heat remains when all else has faded. This is just excellent. (0.5l can, from Føtex, Frederikshavn.)

Can. Pours opaque black with large brown head. Aroma is malt, rotated malt, rye bread, grain, malt whisky, earth, bark and autumn leaves. Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter, light acidic and faint salty. Body is light oily with soft carbonation. Finish is long and balanced bitter and sweet and dominated by malt, but there?s also notes of coffee, licorice, prunes, gravy, soy sauce, ammonium chloride and rye bread again. Extremely complex and rich yet will balanced.
