1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Can, First Great Western, Plymouth to London.
Pampered for choice on the overcrowded express, I had to sample this at least before hitting London. Too embarassed to purchase it at a bar or even a Tesco, so the anonymous confines of a public train seemed the better option. In a plastic cup itís all bright gold, fizzy and thin looking with a sparsely there fluff atop. Tinny, metallic and vegetal nose, all DMS and stale hops. Fizzy, featherweight, blank cardboard mid-palate, a little sour malt and a grassy swallow. Lightly soapy, gassy in the stomach, an odd hint of citrus reserved for disinfectants. Ugh, oh-well. Did what most people do bored on the express and ordered another! (50cL, BB 25/05/12)

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
In a bottle. Probably the most boring beer in the world. Pours a blonde colour with a fair white head. Aroma and flavours of bready yeast, caramel and barley. Quite thin with moderate carbonation and light CO2 pickle.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
One of the better 4ish % alcohol mass produced lagers found in the UK, but that isnít much of a compliment. This kind of beer only tasted good if youíre dehydrated, and then after a couple of mouthfuls the tasteless truth emerges.
