Perhaps it was a bad bottle, but this had a wretched taste, with just the alcohol coming through, not the flavor. I could give it another try, but with all the good beers out there, it’s hard to justify doing so.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Volgon (2715) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 12, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2007 Bottle: Clear yellow with a thin white head, aroma has grass and grains, thin bodied with ample carbonation, starts and ends lightly bitter. Much better than the last time I had it.

I’m not gunna talk any of the arse some of these people have, coz basically Export is the greatest lager out there. With an excellent taste that makes other beers the equivilant of piss, it truly deserves to be the King of all beers. The only draw back is severe beer-arse the morning after.

Thin head that quickly dissipated (yes, the glass was properly cleaned). Slight hop/malt aroma. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild hop bitterness, with just a slight skunkiness. Decent beer. The bottle I tried was made by Labatt.

Before I knew beer this was one of my favorites, now that I know that there is better out there, its not that good.

I must admit that I had the Malawi brewed version only to compare, and it was sensational. Especially considering the choices...none! (Chibuku doesn’t count!)
Very tasty after a hot day of doing nothing in Malawi. Great to sit by a fire with. Even better if you have half a dozen or more with you. Went to the brewery in Blantyre, but they were only running tours in swahili, so we just went straight to the tasting!
What a great 2 hours!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 HansJM (358) - NORWAY - NOV 21, 2001
Slightly more malty than it’s Tuborg rival, and better to my taste, even if i like hoppy pilsners. But it’s in any case a modern style pilsner, with the weaknesses that comes with that style.

Accecptable, but had some skunk action going on. Better than most of the lagers i have had. Much more solid than the average lager.
