Danish: Carlsberg er egentlig blevet en del af den danske kulturarv og den danske tørst.
Du oplever en harmonisk balance mellem bitterhed og sødmefulde æbler, mens du nyder den lyse gyldne farve med det flotte skum og duften af fyrretræ, strå, hasselnød og skovsyre. Ja, det er næsten som en forårsdag i Danmark. Og sådan klæder Carlsberg også det danske køkken hele vejen rundt.

500ml can as Carlsberg Hof, 4.2% ABV, Clear, straw-yellow body, rapidly collapsing white head. Weak grassy aroma. Notes of sweet malts with lemony hints in flavour. After a while in the glass, I’m left with little else than sweet, mouth-filling carbonated water. Pretty dry on the swallow. A very neutral partner to our spiced chicken (shared with Frau Eva, Tromsø 17.01.2010).

Draught, England. Another standard pale lager. Skunky malts, mildy bitter and hoppy.

Bottle. Aroma is fruity and macro lager. Pale gold with a small white head the mostly diminished and left some lace. Taste is ok. Palate is watery soft. Overall a substandard brew.

500 mL Can. Pale gold body with a small fast-dissipating fizzy head. Aroma of yeast, bread, earth, corn husk, and a sharp phenolic note. There is a nuttiness that stands out in the taste but is followed by a somewhat metallic aftertaste and a thinness in the finish. Forget it :(

Tap on Heron Island, QLD. I drank a ton of this stuff on Heron Island. I wasn’t great, but it was the best they had and around 4 in the afternoon, after a day of exploring the reef this really hit the spot. Kind of standard, bready lager with a wee bit of hop snap and of course none of the skunking what for being on tap.

Pours yellow with little to no head, aroma is bready and taste has a bit of hops up front and leads to some malt sweetness with a bit of bitter from the alcohol. Average lager with a bit more flavor than the other macros.

Tap. Another boring pale lager. Aroma is light, and cardboard. Sweet taste with light bitterness. Thin and watery in the palate. Yellow colour, with a thin fizzy head.

Bottle - from World Market. - Low aroma but some hops smell. Very light tasting beer barley any hop flavor, no malt flavor. Golden with white head that dies off quickly. Not very exciting.
