1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 9, 2003
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 Rating #600... Crystal clear yellow brew. Creamy, small white head with decent lacework.
Smells like an A.B. product. A touch floral, but mostly bland.
Tastes like a mid-tier american standard. Thin and mostly flavorless (probably a blessing).
Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation.
Mercifully short, crisp, adjunct-laden finish.
If you MUST drink this beer, make sure it’s served ICE COLD in a FROZEN MUG somewhere in the ARCTIC CIRCLE... where you have no other choices. Otherwise, there’s really no excuse for even trying this beer.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 imdownthepub (7473) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 4, 2004
Bottled, pasteurised. Pale yellow with highly fizzed head. Vague hop and malt flavours inhabit a fizzed, boiled, spritzy monster. I wanted to like it, but just couldnt.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Bov (7354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUL 5, 2000
UPDATED: APR 4, 2007 canned clear and pale golden colour, little collapsing head; aroma of wet corn with a touch of solvant; sweet, light to medium-bodied, the finish is moderately dry with more corny notes - ridiculous
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - SEP 21, 2005
(bottle) Nice Pilsener appearance but the rest is less than decent. Herbal hops and grainy malts aroma. Slight sweet flavour, thin body, unpleasant carbonation. Watery malty taste with a thin slightly bitter finish.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Tmoney99 (7300) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 31, 2006
Bottle. Poured clear amber with a small white head that diminished quickly. Light sweet gassy aroma. Medium body. Moderate sweet bitter flavor with a small malt finish of average duration.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 pivnizub (7229) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - SEP 21, 2006
Tapped (Bahnhof Westerland/Sylt): Pale golden, thin white foamy layer; nearly no aroma detectable, maybe some malt with a molecular illusion of bitterness; flavour not to describe, just a bit sticky; faint bitter, watery finish. Had to stop drinking after three sips...........
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2006
A Mes rate:
What the hell was I doing drinking this? Can’t even remember having it to be honest. Was on my list of rates so sadly it must have passed my lips at some point. Safe to say, my only lasting impression of this is that it was rank.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2005
First beer of the RBESG Denmark trip, on the boat from Harwich to Esbjerg. There may be a craft beer revolution going on in Denmark, but the Carslberg monopoly is still going strong on the boat. In fact, apart from Guinness, this was the only beer available, full stop. The one good thing about the bar was that the crossing was a little choppy and more people were puking up than drinking, so it was easy to get served. As for the beer - very dull, but inoffensive. Much the same as most macro European lagers. So anodyne I can’t find anything more to say about it.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Koelschtrinker (7055) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - FEB 7, 2012
German Version, 5% ABV
Wässriger, hell zitrusartiger Beginn. Überhaupt kaum aromatisch, zum Ende gering bitter. Hallo Geschmack, wo bist du? 6/5/8/4/6/4
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 hopdog (7043) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 17, 2006
On tap (at the Princess Luncheon, with my daughter of course, at Disney World). Poured a medium and see through golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas and tastes of grass and sweet malts (maybe some light honey). Not much else to say.
