0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 ClubGonzo (1732) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 23, 2010
Seems I’ve missed one of the "lite" lagers on my previous rounds; Carlsberg has, like all the other big breweries, a low-calorie beers. Based on previous experiences, expectations are low. Pours a yellow-ish pale lager body with a white head that vanishes fast. Smell is actually quite horrible; corn starch, overcooked veggies and something really foul I can only describe as "dog doo". Yuch. Reluctantly, I take a sip, almost wanting to hold my nose and wondering why the hell I’m torturing myself with this to grind more ratings. Addiction has many faces, I guess. Oh crap. It actually tastes as bad as its gross odor. I manage two sips, noticing the over-fizzy palate on the second one as I try to focus away from the wretched brew I just put into my system. I’ll just refer to the "aroma" description above and go quickly to pour this down the drain. Jesus Christ. This is really one of the worst beers I’ve had in a long, long time. Perhaps even THE worst. :-(
