Flavor: caramel, port-like, rowanberry, bog myrtle, complex.
Full-bodied. Ok bitterness in the finish. Long lingering aftertaste. GreatDane (100), Ballerup, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2003 Carlsbergs Semper Ardens series is a good idea, cause the result is beer tasting differently from most Danish beer. With Semper Ardens Bock it is differently good. Hansen (2357), Randers, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jan 22, 2003 Carlsberg has taken an old danish viking-tradition up. To use other herbs than hops to flavor the beer. Realy interesting and a great result. To bad that the new aromas and flavors is to hidden/faint. mwesth (279), Skovlunde, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2002 Beautyful colour. Very nice beer, if only Carlsberg would brew more like this. Too expensive, 7€ a bottle.. Radek Kliber (4001), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 13, 2002 I had problems locating this brew (I was looking only under Carlsberg) but now thanks to Josh I know where it is. Malty with alcoholic feel, just average frothy head. Light amber. Average bock. David (34), Charlottenlund, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2002 I’ve heard a lot of praise about this beer but I must say I was disappointed. At this price it’s simply nothing special. If you ignore the price you got a good beer tho and the unique flavor, tho somewhat neutral, is worth tasting at least once. Looks amazing with it’s red color. Ungstrup (15472), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2002 A very beutiful red beer - but unfortunately without a head. It has a very nice aroma of rowan berries and porse(?). The taste is slightly bitter but fresh and that of rowan berries. You don’t taste it’s high alcohol content. Definately a great beer.
