COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First Gold is named after a characteristic type of hops, which gives this new Semper Ardens en fresh spicy aroma marked by dry apricot and notes of light smokyness. The flavour finishes with a intense bitterness caused by the big dosage of hops, which is elegantly is balanced by the burtonised brewwater - water with the same salt and mineral composition as in the english Burton-on-Trent. The beer is brewed on english alemalt from Lothian & Borders at the border of England and Scotland. Togehter with a touch of caramelmalts this gives First Gold a light nuttybrown colour and a touch of nuts, which harmonize with the melonish fruitflavour. Enjoy the beer at 6 - 8 degree Celcius.

(Bottle 70 cl) Beautiful amber coloured and filtered with a small, dense head - actually this comes very pretty. Hoppy yes but not in any real sophisticated or aromatic way as in the best British or American IPA’s. Unfortunately it’s rather typical for Carlsberg, that their (well meant) attempts at more exotic beers turn out a bit uninteresting. But credit for trying though. 091004

10.03.2007. 0,7l Bottle. Utgått på dato for lenge siden!... Smaken er tung og fyldig og bitterheten kommer umiddelbart. Smaken er litt daff og ølet litt vinaktig. Dette smaker sikkert bedre når det er ferskt.

Bottled. Amber colour with mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops as well as some slight notes of sweet malts. Flavour is fruity and floral hops along with caramel malts and some rather earthy notes.

Amber with a low head. Oily aroma with notes fruits not much hops there ... And the flavours do no make much of a difference impression: malts and alcohol dominate.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a malty slightly grainy and slightly weak hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty grainy flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty grainy finish with some weak hints of hops in the aftertaste.

Golden color with long lasting medium size white head. Spicy aroma with hob notes. The beer fills your mouth with a well balanced flavour of citrus hobs and a bitter aftertaste, but absolutely to the mild side of an IPA.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange colour with white head. Aroma is very light. Hops, grass and citrus most dominant. Flavor is more of the same, but not even nearly enough to justify this being an IPA. A decent beer, but not an IPA.

bottle, at tasting, faint aroma, looks great, clear orange, white head, flavor is sort of toned down ipa, overall a weak ipa, but in and of itself it is okay. Don’t buy it expecting a strong ipa, you will be severely disappointed.
