Editor's note: originally only a very limited release (at 5.5% ABV) in 2001 for the 100 best Danish restaurants. Re-released as a standard release in the Semper Ardens series 2008.

Weisse, a wheat beer with a touch of apple juice, is the fourth offering in the Semper Ardens range of hand-brewed beers from Carlsberg. The light-golden 5.5% abv wheat beer follows the Semper Ardens theme of offering traditional beers brewed to the highest standards, but with a contemporary twist.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of wheat, banana, and cloves. The flavor is sweet wheaty with strong notes of citrus, but also medium notes of cloves and a touch of banana, leading to a dry wheaty finish. The mouthfeel is sparkling and the body thin.

(Bottle 70 cl) Bottle # 0119. Hazy, honeyish amber colour with a dense, handsome and stable head. Aroma comes a bit late but is fresh and enticing. Soft, soft delicate flavours - a bit of citrus but a lot from the added apple juices (Belle de Boskoop and Bramley). A lovely wheat indeed. 080102

Bottle. It pours a hazy orange body under a moderate sized, dense white head. Banana, wheat, citrus, some cellar and a dusty hint on the nose. The flavor is a bit boring, and has banana, wheat and some bitterness. Dry mouthfeel. Fruity finish. Considering it is part of the top of the line series from Carlsberg, it is disappointing, but maybe some snack or food could go nicely with it. As a refresher it fails. (081003)

Dedollewaitor (15599) - Odense, DENMARK - APR 14, 2008
66cl bottle. Pours muddy orange with a good lasting white head. Aroma is typical German - lots of banana & wheat with hints of yeast. Smooth & ok soft mouthfeel. Medicine/herbal taste & a bit of coriander which gets way too dominating. Very average German style weissbeer!
