3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CaptainCougar (6834) - Columbia, USA - APR 24, 2006
Pours a dark mahogany with a thin light-tan head. Toasty, lightly burnt dark caramel malty aroma. Body starts with a sweet sugary earthy caramel flavor turning slightly sticky toward a thinner lightly roasted finish. An ok porter and not as bad as its ratings might imply.

Where is the body? Smell and look are reasonablly in line with a porter, dark roasted malts and such. The taste is even not bad with caramel and dark roasted malts, but it holds up for about .5 seconds. Super watery texture that fades quickly. Only dark beer that I could find while in Australia and I will not be going back to this one.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20 Davros (1021) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 24, 2011
Pours dark brown with a quickly fading, scummy-looking head.
Nose shows roasted malt, cardboard, chocolate. There’s a burnt rubber character too.
Rather sweet-tasting, but weak. Flavours include nutty malt, caramel and a faint roasty character. No way I would call this a porter.
Extremely watery body really detracts from the experience.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 SeanMacGC (330) - Dublin, IRELAND - MAR 30, 2011
Draught in Sydney. Pours dark with modest tan head. Roasted malts and chocolate on the nose, and similarly pleasant on the palate with hints of dark fruits and coffee.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Jade (311) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 25, 2010
Funky, yeasty smell from this coca cola clone. No head to speak of. Oaky textures to the taste, roasted touches. Not completely dismal - but I wasn’t expecting much.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 crispi (95) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 22, 2010
Dark and promising, with some nice coffee flavour, but not much else. Ok I guess.

Better than I expected but then that’s not saying much for this ’brewery’. Sweet with lots of toffee and maybe a little roasted malt. I would drink it again it was actually not bad at all.

Bottle. Nice dark ale. Roasted aroma, with chocolate, and caramel. Taste is sweet, with light bitter notes, and average duration. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head.

Solid for what it is. A dark ale with some decent fruit tones. Easy drinking and definetely not offensive
