COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Cold was launched in 1993 and enjoys a significant share of the packaged full-strength beer segment. Cold is produced with a cold-filtration process, pioneered in Australia by Carlton & United Breweries and is also the first beer in Australia to be packaged in clear glass and the only beer packaged in unbreakable PET bottles.

If this is the only beer available, just have a glass of water instead, call it a night and go home.

I remember when this launched and people went crazy for it, to be fair there weren’t a lot of options then. Watery, bland, crisp but must be drunk ice cold which is never a good sign.

Pours a... oh who am I kidding? I’m not sure what to say. It’s pure shit. Really.. And their advertising is just ridiculous too! I mean at least if they had good ads, there may be something to admire but seriously, so awful!

OLD RATING OCT 14, 2003 Really have no idea why people buy this anymore. Watery, horribly skunky, as per most Carlton macro swill. With Carlton Dry out there why does this even exist? Probably the closest thing you’ll ever hear to a compliment to Carlton Dry there...

The head is unrobust, the body golden. It smells grain, corn, watery, strange. The taste is watery, mild, and stange-flowery, bit flowery-bitter in the aftertaste. Boring and almost not drinkable.

Horrid beer one of these cane sugar brewed ones to speed up fermentation. Leaves you with a shocking hangover as well. Avoid if in Australia. Foolishly I purchased another 6 pack and found out they actually managed to drop the APV to 4.00%! Hence Dropped its rating even lower but it still pips XXXX (just)

I had four of these at a backyard in Sydney about ten years ago, felt like I was going to die. I would drink this if I was loving in 1976. No taste, pure horror.

Bottled from Dan Murphy’s Geelong, on August 2, 2013.
Marked 4% ABV.
Clear golden color, small white head. Sweet, papery, vegetable scent. Paper, vegetable taste. Paper aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel, very low bitterness.
Could be the beer I really liked the least from 5 weeks of beer drinking in Oz...
