COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Cold was launched in 1993 and enjoys a significant share of the packaged full-strength beer segment. Cold is produced with a cold-filtration process, pioneered in Australia by Carlton & United Breweries and is also the first beer in Australia to be packaged in clear glass and the only beer packaged in unbreakable PET bottles.

Has an objectionable flavour unattained by other CUB products. Good head retention, oddly.

An orange beer with a small white collapsing head. The aroma is sweet of straws. The flavor is of straw, water and sourness. A very bad beer.

When summer comes and the BBQ is running, try serving this fore your friends. It is not the greates lager ever produced, but will work well on hot summers night.

not a bad beer, nice and cheap. does the job when you wanna get schmacco. It has a smart paper sticker over the top of the cap so it doesnt cut your hands when you twist the top off. Leaves you with a bad feeling the next morning.

Suprisingly long lasting white head with nice lacing. This same hops aroma in most of these cheap beers is really disturbing me, I swear it smells like a wet dog (I think this is the strongest of them so far). And it is always the dominant flavour as well. I really dislike it, as I have mentioned previously I suspect that with something else in there maybe it'd balance out or something but by itself it really is quite oppressively bad. I guess this one can at least say it pours an okay head...
As an aside, pointing out the ridiculous factor in their marketing, playing up the fact that you ship in clear glass (bad bad bad) and also in plastic (bad for at least the same reasons as well as the aesthetics) kind of unusual and also teaching people bad things about beer... hmmm.

A clean crisp beer, lacks alot in aroma and flavour but very easy drinking. Can be consumed in large amounts without paying for it the morning after.

Not happy Jan! I was really dissapointed with this beer and with all the hype surrounding it a few years ago, it was not nearly as good as it was stated. It has nothing really to offer the drinker except a cold tongue! No hops, no real flavour to speak of. Disapointing CUB!

Although the 'Coldie' can be a refreshing cool off on a hot Aussie day, it's absolutely useless if it isn't swilled down quickly. Once it goes warm this beer rears its true flavours. It's a cheap beer that goes down very easily, but lacks any real taste. It's found a niche market though as a fashionable beer for the blue collar brigade. The most positive point I can make is that it's the mass-market's lesser evil next to Victoria Bitter.
