COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Cold was launched in 1993 and enjoys a significant share of the packaged full-strength beer segment. Cold is produced with a cold-filtration process, pioneered in Australia by Carlton & United Breweries and is also the first beer in Australia to be packaged in clear glass and the only beer packaged in unbreakable PET bottles.

Bottle 375ml. Clear golden body with normal size white head. Sweet in the nose. Very neutral flavour with hops in the aftertaste. Not much of a beer...

This is how beer smells. Well, at least this is how 99.9% of the beer drunk in Australia smells - sweet and full of Pride of Ringwood. Tastes even worse, the sickly sweetness managing to have me pulling a face of disgust without even realising. This can somehow be tolerated if drunk with very small sips, but who the hell does that when drinking a beer under 5% abv. However it comes in a great clear bottle that lets you see exactly how the beer looks. How good is that!

Cold day in hell when you can say Cold is wow. Pours urine yellow, and tastes as close to it as you can get. You can drink it if it is free!

Bottle. Clear medium to dark yellow color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light hoppy, fruit / apple. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to short duration. Refreshing. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (131007)

Bottle. Clear, pale golden, with a white, moderate head. Grain, hay, some dust and fruit in the aroma. The flavor is fruity, with a weak grainy note and lacking bitterness. Medium to thin body, with a slightly soapy mouthfeel. Fruity finish with a little bitterness, and some yellow apples. Decent, refreshing beer, but it’s too low on bitterness, and the mouthfeel is a bit awkward. (070926)

Bottled(375ml). -as Carlton Cold Filtered
Golden coloured, small white head, cardboard cocoa nose. Cardboard taste with notes of nuts and caramel. Quite dry in the finish and watery overall.
