Carlton Cold was launched in 1993 and enjoys a significant share of the packaged full-strength beer segment. Cold is produced with a cold-filtration process, pioneered in Australia by Carlton & United Breweries and is also the first beer in Australia to be packaged in clear glass and the only beer packaged in unbreakable PET bottles.

Note: Went from 4.9% to 4.7%/4.6%, in 2002. Replaced by the cold filtered Cold, at 4%, in April 2009.

An orange beer with a small white collapsing head. The aroma is sweet of straws. The flavor is of straw, water and sourness. A very bad beer.

Bottled. Pale yellow colour with not very much head. Aroma is only weak malts and hops and the same pretty much goes for the flavour. Very non-saying beer, which mainly is watery and boring. No real unclean notes in it though.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 (Bottle 37,5 cl) Fully golden, nice creamy head. Lightly sweetish, sticky malt-feel. Pretty much no hoppiness. A yuppie-beer in its clear glass bottle. 210205

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2005 Bottled. With a bottle that looks like a Corona clone at least you could hope for something tasteless. Nah, instead they packed this golden coloured, headless beer with rotten pea soup flavour in a sea of saccharine sweetness. Of course there were no hops or malt. It is actually hard to imagine a beer tasting much more awful...

Blond color. Very light aroma, smelly. Bad taste, dry, bread; washing water. This is a very bad beer!

Koelschtrinker (17292) - Kln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 19, 2011
Test vom 30.3.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,5,6,4,13,4 - 5,20

Bottle. Clear, pale golden, with a white, moderate head. Grain, hay, some dust and fruit in the aroma. The flavor is fruity, with a weak grainy note and lacking bitterness. Medium to thin body, with a slightly soapy mouthfeel. Fruity finish with a little bitterness, and some yellow apples. Decent, refreshing beer, but its too low on bitterness, and the mouthfeel is a bit awkward. (070926)
