COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Cold was launched in 1993 and enjoys a significant share of the packaged full-strength beer segment. Cold is produced with a cold-filtration process, pioneered in Australia by Carlton & United Breweries and is also the first beer in Australia to be packaged in clear glass and the only beer packaged in unbreakable PET bottles.

Note: Went from 4.9% to 4.7%/4.6%, in 2002. Replaced by the cold filtered Cold, at 4%, in April 2009.

OLD RATING OCT 14, 2003 Really have no idea why people buy this anymore. Watery, horribly skunky, as per most Carlton macro swill. With Carlton Dry out there why does this even exist? Probably the closest thing you’ll ever hear to a compliment to Carlton Dry there...

I had four of these at a backyard in Sydney about ten years ago, felt like I was going to die. I would drink this if I was loving in 1976. No taste, pure horror.

Test vom 30.3.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,5,6,4,13,4 - 5,20

Snegurochka (389) - Tromsř, NORWAY - OCT 6, 2009
Golden, white fizzy head, lively carbonated. Smell of citrus fruit. Taste of unripe pineapples, sour green apples and lemon peel. Fortunately I shared the 375 ml bottle at the second beer session in Tĺrnrommet 29.01.09, and didn’t have to drink a lot of it.

Gr0ve (2170) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 15, 2009
375 ml bottle. Golden straw colour. Medium-sized fine-laced white head that clings to the glass. Sugary malt aroma with notes of wet paper. Smooth texture and a soft carbonation. The body is light and the softness is cut by crisp hop bitterness in the finish. Watery. A beer that has been stripped by most flavours, except for some residual simple sugars. Rather tiring to drink by my palate. I’d rather have something that tastes pleasant.

armando629 (2438) - Budapest, HUNGARY - FEB 26, 2009
Poured clear straw color, small white head. Some malt and unpleasant grassy hop aroma. Watery texture, weak body, minimal malt flavor with a hard grassy hop taste.
