Commercial Description:
Carlton Draught is one of Australia's biggest selling tap beers. This traditional full strength lager, available nationally, is renowned for delivering "brewery fresh" taste. Carlton Draught provides a crisp mid-palate flavour which is balanced with a clean hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish.

Bottle 375ml. Another mass-produced pale lager. Aroma has cardboard and band-aid. On the positive, the flavour has a bit of a bitter finish, it has a good texture, and the head is frothy.

Golden amber pour, thing head. Lots of grainy malt on the aroma, no noticeable hops (they probably use isohops...). Shows a distinct "old dirty pub" smell. Sweet grainy malt upon tasting, some caramel. Not much else to say really! Seriously weak bitterness. Not as watery as you’d expect for a mainstream cheap lager, but the carbonation is over the top, as per usual!

If there are only mainstream lagers on tap this would be my go to. Quite full bodied for the style with a reasonably pronunced bitterness on the tail.

375ml bottle. Clear and amber in colour with very little head, rather flat looking. Malt and hop aroma with no other real aromas that jump out. Medium bodied and boring.

Had this one during my holiday in Australia april/may 2009. Another locally well enjoyed brew. Golden colored brew. Sweet, malty, dull, bad brew.

Sampled while living in Adelaide. A Common brew. Not bad for aussie beer. Very light, a bit of malts but overall a good brew on a warm day but nothing to brag about here.

The best thing CUB have ever made, but that’s not much of a compliment. Dry as a dead dingo’s donga as Bazza McKenzie would say, with a rusty taste. Nowhere near good, but given a choice of this, Tooheys and VB (some pubs I’ve been to offer this) I’d take Carlton Draught any day.

Another average Australian Lager. Not bad but nothing special. Medium bodied with low bitterness. Medium to High carbonation. Palate, dry/crisp. Pours a rich golden brown colour.
