COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Draught is one of Australia's biggest selling tap beers. This traditional full strength lager, available nationally, is renowned for delivering "brewery fresh" taste. Carlton Draught provides a crisp mid-palate flavour which is balanced with a clean hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish.

From a 375ml bottle on 1/7/2010. Back in the day when there was rarely more than three beers on tap, and I didn’t have an understanding of what a good beer tasted like, this is what I’d go for. Aroma wise, there is a negligible sweet smell of grains and chemicals. At least it tastes better than it smells. Nothing to note other than big dollop of sweetness at the start , followed by a mild bitter finish. I’d still have this over VB, but there’s not too much in it.

Nothing I can really say about this one as it didn’t really taste of anything. Fizzy water with possibly a slight hint of beer in there somewhere. Just a waste of time really.

standard CUB beer, but at least a bit better than crownies. ideal for drinking quickly and having bad hangovers.

Really enjoyable beer on a hot day with mates. Around a BBQ. Can spend the night on this beer

Tap - Pours golden with good head. Staple beer for me - drinkable, cheap and easy to get (if you live in Australia). Has minimal grain flavors but is one of the better mass produced beers in Oz.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2011 Bottle 375ml. Another mass-produced pale lager. Aroma has citrus and band-aid. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and short-lived. Palate is thin and watery. Yellow, with a thin head.

Golden amber pour, thing head. Lots of grainy malt on the aroma, no noticeable hops (they probably use isohops...). Shows a distinct "old dirty pub" smell. Sweet grainy malt upon tasting, some caramel. Not much else to say really! Seriously weak bitterness. Not as watery as you’d expect for a mainstream cheap lager, but the carbonation is over the top, as per usual!

If there are only mainstream lagers on tap this would be my go to. Quite full bodied for the style with a reasonably pronunced bitterness on the tail.
