COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Draught is one of Australia's biggest selling tap beers. This traditional full strength lager, available nationally, is renowned for delivering "brewery fresh" taste. Carlton Draught provides a crisp mid-palate flavour which is balanced with a clean hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish.

Draught. Clear golden yellow with good head. Almost no aroma, just slightly malty. Light bodied with good carbonation. The flavour is very light with a little bitterness in the finish. Overall, it’s a quaffable inoffensive beer but nothing special.

...I have drank this many times, but I despise that weird aftertaste, I don’t know what it is, but it is horrible and you still taste it in the morning after a night of a slab.

The flagship of all that is horrid about Australian lagers. I can’t think of a single positive element. It tastes awful, metallic and has a vile chemical after taste. It smells like a freshly opened can of Ajax. Carlton has no excuse to make beers this bad. It’s sadly one of the most popular beers in Australia though.

Due to its ubiquitiness one does get to sample this often. It is unpretentious bland but invokes pleasing memories of good pub sessions.

Virtually non-existent aroma, very weak. Pours a nice well rounded clean lager that looks very enticing. Light bitter flavor - nothing special. Average palate with not much aftertaste or complexity.
