COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Dry has an exceptional dry finish that has been achieved through an extended brewing process, creating a smoother, drier beer that has 30% less carbohydrates than other full strength beers. Ok I made a mistake entering this beer into the fray but that is because I had too many! Now I won’t be harsh on this beer because it is not a bad lager, not too hoppy and also drinks well for a Sunday lunch at a BBQ. So, kudos to the CUB boys for this... PS: Anyone reading my ratings will know I do not rate way too high due to many factors...

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2012 Yep it’s dry but doesn’t have much else going for it. Some mildy sweet and sticky adjunct flavour runs through the palate but otherwise devoid of any malt character of hop bitterness. Needs a chill to make it bearable. Ok if you like your beer dry and without challenge.

Davros (1021) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 27, 2009
Tiny generic lager head, with slight lacing. Crystal clear bronze pour. Aroma is metallic, astringent, slight lemon. Pretty damn bad. Essence of piss. Tastes is of carboard malt, soap and cooked cabbage. No bitterness whatsoever. Very watery, with lively carbonation. Overall, pretty horrible. Never buying this again.

Bottle 330ml. As expected, like making love in a canoe. Light aroma of straw. Taste is sweet and short-lived. Palate is thin and watery. Yellow, with a thin head.

Pours a typical pale lager straw yellow, but with no a very thin head than fizzes quickly away. Smell is mild but astingent and metallic. Not good. Taste is astringent metallic with some mild apple like tones. Not good.

How is this different to the premium dry? Or is it the same beer just misdescribed on ratebeer? Anyway, smells of wet dog and cardboard. Taste is flat and dull. Awful
