rmussman (687), California, USA Jul 7, 2008 Not bad. Some decent flavor and a good finish. Worth a try if you get the chance.
thesimmos (13), Brisbane, Australia May 1, 2008 It isnt really an exciting beer, for the price per case I would far prefer a box of James boags light or xxxx gold. But with that said if it is really cheap or something offered it isnt that bad that I wouldnt drink it.
It is like a cider water with a beer cordial added to it very lightly. I noticed someone else said it tastes almost metallic and I tend to agree.
When it says double hopped I am expecting something that would smell like a pilsner. Very deceitful. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 24, 2008 (Can 37,5 cl) Clear, golden with a creamy, lacing, white head. Sweetish corn aroma. Thin and watery with very sweet - almost sticky - corn accents. No bitterness. According to the label this should be "Double Hopped". Funny guys there at CUB marketing.... 230108 gam (515), brisbane, Australia Dec 25, 2007 Well now the old Carlton saga, pour gold, fair head turns to lacing aroma hoppy, fruity,so far so good flavour metallic bitter but sour and salty at the finish, typical of Carlton beer. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Nov 21, 2007 Another same old same old CUB beer. Thankfully these mid-strength beers don’t taste as bad as the regular CUBs, but that doesn’t say much. With a vigorous pour I managed to get a nice fluffy head that hung around a little while, especially in my Movember moustache. Like most beers in this country it’s brewed for guzzling at 2 degrees C. zzzzz
