Hope I have the right beer as there was nothing sweet in the aroma or flavour of this one to give it any life. Tasted from the bottle (355ml, 4.5% ABV) and poured into a tallboy. Clear pale gold, with irregular carbonation holding up a decent fluffy white head, that lasted and left foam lacing down the glass. Appearance was alright, but the beer was not. I had just tasted a Boag’s St. George and this suffered from the same adjunct ridden, yeast infected aroma. Corn, DMS boiled vegie’ water and a sour hop note that turned my stomach. Thankfully it was quite clean in the mouth, but the aroma still lingered. Feather weight in body and biting in carbonation, with an acrid ’Tonic water’ and cardboard feel that left little to impress. Anything detected on the tongue was that light on that it borderlined on tasteless, and the crisp dry finish left me wondering if I was drinking beer at all. The only good point to this beer was that the liquor used was extremely clean. Another embarrassing marketing blunder by yet another macro ’bean counter’.

metallic wet dog hops aroma. Manages to keep it's head for a little but no lacing. Wet dog flavour, thin palate etc. Image problem, it's not a premium beer, it's a crap beer. Why can't they market with "Hey it's crap but at least it's cheap as all get out". bah.

hmmm, just wondering where premium fits in? Carlton, this is as bad as the Carlton Empire beer. just a shame i bought a 6 pack to sample rather than one. This is really awful stuff. About the only compliment i can give is that it almost looks like a beer.

This is officially the worst beer ever. This is an absolute digrace to the word "beer". This beer smells like a dirty fart, tastes skunky, flat and has a funny, sickening palate. The vomity aftertaste lasts well into the palate. I hope the plant that i threw the remainder of the stubby into enjoyed it at least. This beer is a joke. Another foul cold filtered job.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2003 Premium? Premium what? cos it certainly isnt beer! A bad attempt to sway the dry market dominace of TEDS (Tooheys extra dry). The aroma is sickening and the taste is a CUB regular- artificialality. cheers

an extra dry pilzner, similar to what the japanese seem to love; a beer with all the beer flavours pasteurised and filtered out.

Almost like beer, no hop flavour or malt profile, cane sugary mid palate(very very not dry) and slight drying bitterness, no aftertaste.
