1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pale lager colour with very little white head that sank into virtually nothing. I couldnít for the life of me elicit any aroma even with my big nose. I suppose the one positive of the flavour is that it has plenty of carbonation, but I may as well have just been drinking water. Itís hard to attempt to seriously rate a beer that appears to have made no effort to taste of anything. I tried, I seriously tried.

Bottle 33 cl @ hotel in Melbourne. Pours clear pale golden with a huge creamy white head leaving some lace. Aroma is very weak malty, hoppy and hay. Flavor as weak, a bit acidy. Finishes shortlived watery and malty.

On Tap- Served a pale golden color with a nice full head and good lacing.
Bland aroma of mild grain and hint of sweetness. Again, bland flavor of mild grain and bit of malt sweetness. Very light body, quite watery. Just an Aussie version of a light beer.

I am a late onset Type 1 diabetic. i have restored my overall health by adopting a low-carb diet. Basically, carbohydrates = glucose = poison. I have been able to enjoy beer again because of the huge number of low carb beers now available. i have a limited carb budget (30g per day) and a beer that only has 3g of carbs fits right in. i find pure blonde to be uber-refreshing and hoppy. perhaps that is because i donít have the luxury of drinking the super sugary beers.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Gold coloured body with almost no head (a touch of white on top) with some bubbles - but a pretty ugly and lifeless beer. Aroma of pale malt, rice, filler and cardboard - not pleasant. Light-bodied; Gross cardboard and metallic flavour with some light malt notes and not much else to speak of. Aftertaste shows metal, malt, a touch of hops and rice - not good. Overall, a pretty bland, weak and understated beer - not really worth trying when there are others down under! I sampled this schooner on draught at Riverland on the Yarra in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 02-January-2010.

Pure, clear yellow they mean. Weak beer, and weak head. Why does the world copy shitty American pale lager beers? Smells like Elmerís glue half-dried between 2 pieces of notebook paper. Tastes much the same but with a large supply of water added in. You could say itís bitter, you could say it sucks. You decide.

One for the ticks. Strangely, perhaps, a beer I perceive to be better than the rest of the stable given the absence of those horrible stale malts. That is, no flavour here at all but the structure is dry and quite refreshing. Like Asahi actually.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2010 Tap in Torquay, Victoria. Pour is wildy fizzy clear yellow to straw with a detergent white head. Pretty good lacing down the glass that you canít totally scoff at. Aroma is detergent, soap, slight chemical. Taste is tinny, metallic, slightly biting, very suddy and soapy. Sort of like drinking dish water. 3/3/3/2/6=1.7
330mL. The pour is still nice leaving pretty good sheety, detergent lace that cannot be ignored. Nose is soapy dish water, sweet grain, light butter. Taste is a massive chemical play on the palate: butter, then soap, then rich maltiness, then laundry detergent. The end result is something that I am terrified of and most pass along to unsuspecting friends. Really is undrinkable for all practical purposes. 3/3/2/2/5=1.5

Draught. Nothing much to be said here - an anaemic macro, with little character in the aroma, taste and appearance.
