This stout, like a Fosterís, comes in a mega-sized container. Now THATíS Australian! Anyway, the beer itself is less impressive. Bitter, roasty and yes, medicinal! Sort of like a coffee throat lozenge! Anyway, Iíve drunk this beer in Indianapolis after the Indy 500 for 5 years in a row, dammit, at the Outback steakhouse 3 miles up Georgetown Rd. from the track. Somehow, each time, it tastes FANTASTIC, though I know itís an illusion and the beer only tastes good because of my post-Indy 500 feel-good vibe. So, Iím going to be objective and give it the score it truly deserves as a service to others.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2004 750ml bottle: Huge medicine aftertaste that comes right after an otherwise boring stout. Yikes!

A good heavy stout. Lots of roast malt flavor, and a hint of coffee. Kind of wierd to find a stout in a 40 though.

a well made basic stout, opaque colour with a beige head. nose has a trace of coffee. strong well roasted malt taste that lacks subtleties. smoothg palae despite being slighlty heavy and viscous.

very subtle aroma, kinda carmel/charcol but very week. the appearance(IMHO) is of a nice stout, however the flavor and palate donít stand out. typical stout assests, but nothing complex or interesting

Ick. Not much of a head. It doesnít really smell like anything. Tastes, well, not very good. Kind of light and itís got a weird aftertaste... almost vinegar like. Really pretty poor. I had to have some water to get rid of the taste in my mouth.

Dark color with a nice brownish head that dies prety quick. The aroma has a lot of things goin on, a rich smell which is good, but it has some fruity, vinegary hints that I dont care for. The taste is similar, it has some stuff goin for it, but it has a hint of vinegary fruit that I dont overly care for. I dont think I will try it again.

Dark. Real Dark. Frickiní Dark. And thick to boot. Some find it difficult to get down, but I dig the thickness of it. Has a nice aftertaste, too.

Was running low on STP and decided this would do the trick. Better than the other crap out of Austrailia. Good for getting hammered if you have grown away from macros and are looking for something darker to pound. Still, not exactly my bag.

This is a terrible stout. The worst i have ever had. Barely black, next to no aroma. Sour, slightly tinny, sweet malty flavors. Way too carbonated, very dry, chemical taste. Awful.
