light toasted malt aroma, flavor is thin, watery, some malt, toffee notes, light strange finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
nice and roasted, totally solid, preferably drank out of the bottle while shooting pool, it just feels right that way

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma predictably malty--slightly sweet, slightly roasty--light on both counts...Opaque deep brown color--tan head with fingered lace...Flavor starts with light malt sweetness, which gives way to the roastier malts and mild hoppiness---a bit of carbonated bite as well...This adds to the lively mouthfeel but sacrifices a bit of balance and smoothness in the process...still, this is quite pleasant stuff...

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
almost opaque appearance. beige head (not lasting). this was served too cold and a slightly harsh alcohol taste was apparent, but after warming sufficiently, mild coffee and roasted flavors were there. slight bitterness in the aftertaste as well. overall, decent...not much in the aroma and a fairly light-bodied beer

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thin head, light body, black roasted barley aroma, coffee and chocolate on the palate. Too much fizz, thin body, low bitterness. Fast drinking stout? An oxymoron really.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tasted like burnt coffee that sat around for days. Throw in some chalk and alcohol and call it a stout i guess ?

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
As a stout fan, I have to give this a thumbs-down. Some coffee in the taste, decent looking, but not much else. Pretty inferior. The only good quality came out when 3/4 of the way through the glass (and after 4 other beers) I swallowed wrong and got something of a whiskey taste on my palate. I think it was an accident but it was kind of nice while it was there.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a good stout. First had it at Outback in the big 750ml jug. After two of those everything tasted wonderful. I normally drink beer warm, but this certainly tastes better chilled. Otherwise it is quite heavily cabonated. I still enjoy this stout and I do recommend it.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
This stout, like a Fosterís, comes in a mega-sized container. Now THATíS Australian! Anyway, the beer itself is less impressive. Bitter, roasty and yes, medicinal! Sort of like a coffee throat lozenge! Anyway, Iíve drunk this beer in Indianapolis after the Indy 500 for 5 years in a row, dammit, at the Outback steakhouse 3 miles up Georgetown Rd. from the track. Somehow, each time, it tastes FANTASTIC, though I know itís an illusion and the beer only tastes good because of my post-Indy 500 feel-good vibe. So, Iím going to be objective and give it the score it truly deserves as a service to others.
