For my liking, stouts should be meaty with plenty of coffee/chcoloate/burnt malt flavours and aromas. This brew is very middle of the road. Somewhat sweet on the initial taste, but doesnít blur into a bitter finish like expected.

KeefOz (906) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - APR 29, 2014
Poured an opaque black colour with a very slight mahogany edge tint that produced a three-finger tan coloured frothy head that diminished quickly but laced well in rings. Aroma with lots of dark chocolate, some roasted grain possibly as well as some fruits. Taste of sweetness but also with a tart bitterness and possibly some dark fruits. Aroma not replicated in taste. Moderate body, lighter that I was expecting. Although it has a slightly bitter finish it is easy to drink.

750 ml bottle. Dark pour with little head. This one surprised me a bit. Aroma is of sweet milk chocolate. A lot of chocolate, malty flavor with a strong, sweet coffee finish. This was less than $4 and I am very impressed with the beer/price combo. Good stuff.

1 pint bottle. Pours a dark brown with large tan/light brown head. Aroma of coffee and roasted sweet malts. Flavor is sweet, malty and roasty, with hints of chocolate and coffee. A bit thin, but way better than I expected at the price point.

750ml bottle with a screw top, thanks to caterwaul. Sticker says $4.29. Wow..! Sticker says best before 14/mar... 2015??? How is this possible? They must give this beer, at least, a 2 year shelf life. Pretty generous. Why even print that? How long do these classically sit for? Near pitch black color. Thin light brown head. Dots, little bits of lace. Moderate dark chocolate, roast, some ashiness. Kind of sweet, metallic taste. Tasteís a little big and heavy for just 5.7%... Not sure if thatís a good or bad thing. Dark fruity taste. Moderate sweet. Light tart. Probably a little older. But itís held up incredibly well for a what I think must be a 1-2 yr old beer. A lot better and more flavorful than expected.
