i really canít convey my shock at this beer. it is a stout, not a thin black concoction with too much roast or an overhopped monstrosity. it is a real honest to whatever gods you believe in stout. it is 5.7% it is drinkable, it gives a light roast flavor with a lingering milky very mild cocoa flavor. hop presence is there for balance, but above all, this is drinkable. i could sip on a few of these. mild light coffee nose with hints of chocolate. i am very happy to have this easily available to me.

Poured an opaque black colour with a very slight mahogany edge tint that produced a three-finger tan coloured frothy head that diminished quickly but laced well in rings. Aroma with lots of dark chocolate, some roasted grain possibly as well as some fruits. Taste of sweetness but also with a tart bitterness and possibly some dark fruits. Aroma not replicated in taste. Moderate body, lighter that I was expecting. Although it has a slightly bitter finish it is easy to drink.

750 ml bottle. Dark pour with little head. This one surprised me a bit. Aroma is of sweet milk chocolate. A lot of chocolate, malty flavor with a strong, sweet coffee finish. This was less than $4 and I am very impressed with the beer/price combo. Good stuff.

1 pint bottle. Pours a dark brown with large tan/light brown head. Aroma of coffee and roasted sweet malts. Flavor is sweet, malty and roasty, with hints of chocolate and coffee. A bit thin, but way better than I expected at the price point.
