COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlton Sterling is a double hopped 2.5% lager and as its name suggests, is a true marque of brewing excellence made from world-class ingredients. The finest of pale malts and roasted barley are used to create malt flavour and colour. Noble Saaz hops and Australian Pride of Ringwood hops provide a subtle yet distinctive hop aroma and flavour. CUBs unique double hopped brewing process, normally reserved for premium beers, maximises flavour to create a light beer of distinction. Its this unique character that brings an extra layer of flavour to this excellent quality low alcohol beer.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2003 Bit of a worry when you only have to change one of the default ratings. OK I know this is a light beer but that does not excuse the lack of essential features of a good beer. Sure it looks OK but it all goes downhill when you get close enough to smell and taste it. Some 'kind' soul left it at my place after a barbecue and so I could at least try it for free. Wasn't worth the money. It is insipid, aromaless and thin. The only thing it has a lot of is carbonation and an acidic afterburn.

Bottle. Had this beer many years ago, just adding it to my records. All I remember was that I didn't enjoy it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375ml bottle. I didn’t klnow they still made this, found it on the shelf atr First Choice on the Sunshine Coast. I remeber drinking this stuff back in the day before decent craft beer was available. Bit of colour for a low alcohol beer and carries a whiff of white foam. Cereal in the aroma is no surprise.

This is horrible stuff, tastes soapy, and not like beer at all. Stay away....you have been warned!

2.5% and tastes it. In fact it hides this 2.5% very well in that you can’t tell it’s alcoholic at all. Clear orange gold with a head that disappeared virtually instantaneously. Cold metal aroma, with a bit of sweet sugary adjunct. Slightest hint of bitter and sweet on tasting, but only slight. As much as these low abv beers keep professing to be "full flavour", it really is just a crock of shit. As to be expected there is no depth at all. Tastes like beer cordial really.

well it is a light beer, so gone is any depth and it is carlton so gone are any hops or character. I’d rather have 1 nice heavy than 20 light beers, but i guess this isn’t aimed at me!

At the risk of sounding like a tool, I actually enjoyed a longneck of this. Really easy to drink, although nothing spectacular. Shame about the low alcohol.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2006 Pale golden, clear, medium head. I wouldn’t go so far as calling this "foul", but it is pretty boring (even allowing for it being a light beer). A whiff of hops, but nothing on the palate. Watery.

Draught at Irish Murphy, Ballarat. Pale yellow. A hint of Pride of Ringwood hops. After that sweetness, fizz and emptiness. Hello? Anybody in there?

Blandish beyond recognition. A hint of VB chemical foulness under the bland cardboard exterior. More like carbonated wood shavings then a beer. Though not nasty like VB.
