Bottle. Pours clear dark gold with a thick white head. A little wheat-based sourness in the aroma, and a touch of honey. Lightly sweet malt and honey taste with a bit of grass in a clean finish. Kinda simple. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.

a modest wheat, it pours almost clear, with a tawny boxer-dog colored hue. a dismal head-- if i’d have gone bald this quickly, i’d have cut my throat. not enough foam left after a minute to impress a spittle bug. for the aroma, carmel features a likeness of grape and orange drizzled grass, white beans, and a bit of well-worn tuperwear. i tried to pry out of it some classic banana, gum or clovey notes, but without a 36" crow bar, i guess it can’t be done. nice carbonation for a quencher, but with a bittersweet taste that caused my brow to knit and lip to curl. some dank grains, with more of the grape and citrus. lightly acidic-- and while not enough to corrode a battery terminal-- it seems strange for a hefe unless they supplied a lemon wedge right in the bottle. the last pour did produce some yeast and residue, adding perhaps a saving measure of depth. it’s a strange wheat/pale ale cross over, with not quite enough qualities of either to engender much enthusiasm, an endorphin, or even an appreciative sigh.

ditmier (1509) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 8, 2009
2009 Bottle - Pours clear and orange with a small white head that dissipates...aroma is musty grain and malt, I think I sense some hops as well, but who knows...flavour is benign enough, old cereal, malt, light corn and candy...I just don’t trust me a clear hef...meh...

Reid (1385) - Salem,Oregon, Oregon, USA - AUG 12, 2009
Typical yellow/golden coolur, largeish thick white head. Aroma is dull but not unpleasant..lemoney candied lemony and some wheat. Taste again lemon not so candied thank goodness, wheat and a nice smack of bitterness near the end. OK for style on the palate. A nice enough simple wee beer. Not bad for $4.99 a sixer.

I enjoyed this beer in the cafeteria at the Monterey bay aquarium. Trust me, after walking around that place(which was really cool) for five hours with two little kids, anything would probably taste like heaven. So despite its low ratings, I actually kind of liked it. Very little aroma, I picked up wheat and lemons. The taste is lemons, wheat and a touch of sweet tea. It has a nice bready aftertaste. I thought it was pretty good for a wheat beer, refreshing, but I guess my judgement might be a little skewed due to circumstances.

~Pours clear gold with small creamy white head. ~Strong malt and wheat scent, a hint of sourness. ~Sweet malty taste with some spicy bitterness. ~Medium feel. Sweet watery finish. ~Boring brew. Drinkable, but nothing to look forward to with each sip.

illidurit (1274) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - MAR 26, 2009
12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Clear piss/apple juice color with a bit of chill haze. Thin fizzy white head that fades to a sickly smattering of froth. Diacetyl aroma with a sweet butteriness and possibly some corn? No hallmark wheat notes. Flavor is essentially carbonated diacetyl with a grainy undercurrent. High carbonation, thin body. Not recommended.
