UPDATED: JAN 28, 2003 Has a cloudy medium yellow color and a wheat smell. Taste is of wheat and finishes with little bitterness. Overall a very refreshing and easy to drink. A good beer to take on a long hike in Big Sur.

(Bottle) Wow. After reading the other reviews, it’s hard to believe that I was drinking the same beer. This beer is very original tasting and is quite good, at least to me. Rich, dark colour, with little head. Wheaty aroma, very light texture, without being thin. A metallic taste emerges, like in German beers--not at all unpleasant. Refreshing: easily the most refreshing wheat beer I’ve ever had. Less of the fruity aroma characteristic Hefeweizens...it says "Hefeweizen" on the label but I think that is not an accurate claim...only a hint of that aroma emerges from time to time. Although it is not particularly thick or rich, there is a sort of warmth and graininess to the flavour that is absent from many wheat beers. At the same time, it lacks the sourness that ruins many American-made wheat beers. I really like this one. It is not only a good beer, but it is quite unique, unlike any other.

Got a bottle free at a conference I went to in Monterey. Very sweet, very satisfying. The food at the conference was so bad, this was dinner!

Wheat and barley malt aroma with some mild hop effect. Flavor of wheat, deep malts, grape and apple. A pretty good hef in my opinion. Quite tasty, with a noticeable hop spice.

Nose of wheat bread and a hint of lemon. That is about it. Pours golden thin foam layer. Crisp upfront with wheat on the mid palate and some honey sweetness and citrus crispness that washes that away. Crisp finish. Could be quenching on a hot day. A decent wheat ale.

Good American wheat. Mild hops in the aroma, slight tartness. Full, grainy malt body with lightly bitter, leafy hops.

This had an average aroma. Not much head.Color piss-yellow.It had a typical wheat taste.Nothing special.Had also that crappy,mass-produced flavor in the foreground.I won’t buy again, but better than most mass-produced beers.
