Cask (handpump) at the Saracens Head, Worcester, May 2009. Not 100% certain of the provenance of this beer. The beers now badged as Carn Brea were originally produced for the wholesaler LWC Jollys at the, now defunct Ring O Bells brewery. After the closure of Ring O Bells, the beers were rebranded under the Carn Brea label and production moved (via Keltek) to Hepworth, for the bottled beers at least. I didn’t realise that the cask beers were still in production but, from this sighting, it seems they are. I’m not at all sure that the casks come from Hepworth but it seems sensible to keep the Carn Brea beers together. Anyway, this was a rather handsome copper coloured bitter. Fairly dry. Significant amount of dry malt. Easy-drinking and pleasant.
