COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned only.
Originally produced for the wholesaler LWC Jollys at the, now defunct, Ring O Bells brewery in Cornwall. After the closure of Ring O Bells, Jollys changed the branding of a number of the bottled beers to Carn Brea and moved production (via Keltek) to Hepworth. The recipes may differ from the originals.

Scuttled is made with a blend of Pale, Crystal and Black barley, with good English hops.

A Mes rate: bottle at Chris O’s Post GBBF Tasting.
Decent amber colour with a thin off white head. Reasonable aromatic hop notes with some slight earthy malt. Tart and fruity with slight hints of wood and a delicate bitter finish that is fairly dry.

Hazy amber-mossy beer with a small ring for a head. Very hoppy nose, nearly USA, and a bit of kiwi fruit. Dry, dry, dry. Cardboard flavours, but with dry hops, orange zeste, hop bales. Light to medium bodied quite slick. A surprisingly good Southern English interpretation of an American pale ale.

Bottle. Chestnut brown and red with a small head. Aromas are earthy with Winter fruit and some berry sourness. Quite resinous with herbal notes. Flavours are blackberries with sour blackcurrants. Some chocolate malts with red wine fruit and tannins. Decent.

Bottle, picked up by my dad from Cornwall. Like it’s stablemate ’Dreckly’ this pours a fairly standard brown colour but with a smaller off white frothy head. Some hops and malts in the aroma, bit dry, quite bitter and hoppy tasting again another beer from Ring O Bells that is absolutely fine but hardly exciting.
