COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Courtesy of Sebletitje. Thx! 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBSG II. Pours a blackish, very dark brown, quickly gone beige head. Nose is sweet chocolate, raisins, chocolate cornflakes, coffee, cocoa, dark fruits,… Taste is sweet chocolate and coffee, chocolate pie & truffles, dark malts, slightly warming, light toast and dark sugar,… Touch grainy body but very full. I didn’t particularly care for the regular one but this one is truly wonderful. Comes to show if the need or the desire were to arise, the big boys can do incredible work.

Very mild, despite the high alcohol strength. Fits equally well with beef as snacks or maybe just for yourself.

75cl via trade, Thanks to rlgk - Ronny. BB 16-08-2013.

75 cl bottle I’ve had in my fridge since it was released and I purchased it at Systembolaget a few years ago. BB 16.08.2013, sampled on Feb 22, 2014.
Clear dark brown color, fluffy lasting tan head. Sweet, vanilla, wood scent. Wood, sweet, vanilla, rich taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
Certainly not taking damage from being over its BB date, at least not for my personal taste.

Aroma: Smelling of sweet vanilla sugar, some almond and bourbon nuances, a good measure of oak cask. Caramel and butterscotch as well.
Appearance: The brew is dark brown, almost black with ruby nuances, a tan small head with little lacing but good curtains.
Taste: The taste has the sweet vanilla, Caramel and butterscotch, dark dried fruits. Now a pleasant Madeira nuance is developing, some oak notes.
Palate: Little carbonation, soft but slightly watery.
Overall: Now it is starting to mature, much better than the fresh variant IMHO.
Note: Bottle 750 ml. Reviewed 2013-01-25.
